When you’re on Siargao island, you can be as free as you’d like. On the island, there’s no room for pretense or stereotypes. You could walk around half-naked and not give a damn about what people say because hey, everybody here is chill and minding their own business. And this is exactly what Nadine Lustre did.
Since we’re used to seeing her glammed up for TV, movies, and music videos, the sight of her at a market in Siargao holding the most random thing — a bottle of Mang Tomas — was enough to make the internet go crazy.

And just like that, without any effort, she trended on social media.

Remember that outfit your wore for the approval of your home credit loan? How about the time when you fell in line for the disbursement of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) fund? Don’t forget about your humble beginnings.

No ads, no press releases. She’s just trying to immerse in the local life by walking barefooted and buying the most mundane of Filipino things in the market. She has even distanced herself from showbiz for quite some time. But look at the power she holds.
locals: laos!
nadine lustre: *effortlessly trends for buying mang tomas*

What did you call Nadine? Care to repeat it?

It’s not Nadine’s fault if her presence in the market is so powerful that buying a sauce would make her trend. Kween thingz, so they say. But after some netizens drew her attention to the allegedly problematic business practices of the makers of Mang Tomas, Nadine was quick to distance herself from the brand.
Bare-faced! Babe and I bought some condiments before heading back to the island!

Going out with a bikini in Siargao? Nothing new. But when Nadine does it, sans makeup and glam, it’s a ~lewk~. Effortless but she’s nailing it.

So many speculations have been made, but at least we can all go to sleep.

Nadine has been through a lot in the course of two years — a breakup, a hiatus from showbiz, management issues, and on top of that, the pandemic. It’s great to see that she’s able to do “normal” things like buying her own lechon sauce in Siargao.
