K-pop has been taking the world by storm, and the Philippines is no different. Fans love to cheer for their idols, watch their content, and collect their photocards and merchandise. This, of course, means there’s a large audience for anything idol-related, and brands know that. Case in point: Orocan, a local plastic product manufacturer, has come up with a new item — a K-pop lightstick-inspired tabo.
Last week, Orocan teased a new yet familiar product. Familiar because it’s their usual trusty water dipper or tabo. New because it has a new theme this time: K-pop! Known as the Orocan Tabo Idol Lightstick, Orocan’s new K-pop-themed dipper uses its similar shape to be advertised as the cheaper alternative to the lightstick. “Jusko ang mahal na ng mga bilihin! Pero alam naming mas mahal n’yo ang mga K-Pop idol n’yo,” Orocan writes. “Kaya gumawa na kami ng paraan para ma-suportahan n’yo sila.”
The brand’s Facebook post has since garnered over 23,000 reactions, 2,000 comments, and 9,000 shares as of writing.
The brand clarifies that this is unfortunately NOT yet an actual product. But they said if there are enough people interested, they might just do it. You know what to do, K-Pop fans! *winkwink*

As this isn’t an official partnership (the brand did write a disclaimer), the idol tabo collection simply uses the group’s colors and a slightly different name for each group. Orocan has “Sventeen” for 13-member boy group Seventeen; “Blockpink” for four-member girl group BlackPink; and “Str★yKidz” for eight-member boy group Stray Kids.

Lightstick leveled up.
Some K-pop fans pointed out that the lightstick-inspired tabo looks like an actual lightstick of boy group The Boyz… You be the judge, and see the lightstick in question here:
NO MAMEN NO ME HABÍA DADO CUENTA QUE ESTE ES EL LIGHTSTICK DE LOS TBZ JAJAJAJAJJAJA yo estaba así de a no mamen que chistosos megáfonos traen todos en el escenario JAJAJAJA pic.twitter.com/S3qUcjEMVs

And with other groups, too, please! A lot of netizens are already requesting their own idol artists and groups.
There are even requests for P-Pop groups, like SB19 just in time for their concert tour.
Should Orocan push through with their tabo lightstick, here are a few ideas for products they can make to cater to K-pop fans:
Known for their sturdy and affordable home furniture, Orocan has gone viral over the past few years thanks to their out-of-the-box ads. Their O-shopping commercial, in particular, captured the attention of Filipino netizens for its too honest review of their Koolit Cantina. Read more about it below:
