8 Things You Can Make with a Jar of Peanut Butter

On days you come home to an empty table and a refrigerator with no food (or at least any that you like), you’ve probably resorted to the no-fail and ever-comforting peanut butter sandwich. The more adventurous ones may have added jam or bananas to the mix, but even that slightly more exciting sandwich can get boring the more often you have it.

There are waaaaay more possibilities for the ubiquitous jar of peanut butter. It can transform the simplest of dishes to creamy flavor explosions without requiring tons of effort.

Here are 8 peanut butter recipes that won’t give you a hard time making, but will definitely lead to an awesome time as you eat the finished product!

8. PB&S Quesadilla

Whole wheat tortillas replace the typical slices of white bread for something that will cook more crisp. The usual banana and peanut butter combination is made more exciting with sliced strawberries. In just five minutes, you’ll have a healthy dessert or a sweet breakfast treat.

7. PB Hummus

Ever thought of pairing chickpeas and peanut butter? Very few have, but do try because this is an awesome revelation. They actually complement each other very well, making an extra creamy and flavorful hummus. There’s Sriracha sauce in the recipe, too, so you can expect a hummus the likes of which you’ve never had before.

6. Thai PB Chicken Sandwich with Ginger Slaw

Mix it up for dinner by making something fusion like this recipe, which has Thai and Mexican influences. Be excited about the braised beef with a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty and spicy. The peanut butter ties everything together while the mango salsa adds freshness to the dish.

Put down the Yakisoba and make this scrumptious Asian noodle dish instead. It will give you the same comfort, if not more, while being healthier and meatier.

3. PB&J Wings

Before you freak out about this abomination, reflect for a moment. Aren’t wings sort of sweet and sticky normally? The same is true for PB&J, right?

Spiced with hot pepper sauce and made savory with salt and vinegar, coating wings with PB&J is actually a genius move. Try this out, and you might reserve your PB&J for chicken instead of bread from now on.

2. Elvis Burgers

A good burger is satisfying as it is. Top it with peanut butter, banana and bacon, and you’ve got a concoction that might be risky for some yet heavenly for most. If you’re part of the first group, this recipe is still definitely worth a try!

1. Chicken Satay Nachos
