One of the highlights of their show — or at least what amplified how good it was were their backdrop graphics. We were transported from the Kia Theatre and we were taken to a land of trippy colorful graphics, to a hall with white walls and an unending number of doors, to watching them perform in front of the Trevi Fountain, to watching a sky full of stars that turned into constellations… just to name a few. When you add those backdrops to their incredible sound, you have what some would call an unbeatable show.
Lisztomania is arguably one of Phoenix’s best songs, and when performed live, even better! We had the biggest smiles that we couldn’t wipe off our faces. There were good vibes all over the place. What a song. What a show.
In true concert fashion, the band left before they performed one of their biggest hits. After continuous “Wooooo” and “We want more!” chanting, the band came back out to perform 1901, and trust us when we say: they killed it. The crowd was loving it, the band seemed to be loving it — they brought the house down!
They ended their show with Thomas Mars, their lead singer, crowd surfing and then coming into the crowd to thank everybody for coming to their show, and the crowd went CRAZY! To accompany that, the band was playing “Ti Amo Di Piu” and there was confetti falling. We’d say it was a magical moment and the perfect way to conclude an AMAZING show. We can barely wait till they come back for a third show!
