Nothing drives a commuter to madness better than drivers who couldn’t care less about expressways or shortcuts. Whatever happened to efficiency and evading traffic? Well, you’ll never know. The driver probably chose to ignore both for an extended scenic route adventure.

Don’t you love how jeepneys can turn Pinoys into human squeeze balls? Our jeepneys will only leave if every inch of space is occupied, including passengers’ laps and even the center aisle. That’s why when you find even a tiny bit of room to sit comfortably, seize it, even if it means giving a friendly shout to the passenger next to you.

Once you’ve braved the PH’s commuter hellholes, you must face the final boss: the commuters who make a mess after answering nature’s call, either accidentally or out of dire need. Whatever the case, covering your nose with all your might is the only way to survive the ride with your sense of smell intact.

It’s common for Pinoy commuters to say if they’re a student or a senior citizen to get that coveted ride discount. But this culture is also a double-edged sword, especially when you get mistaken for an elder despite only approaching your late twenties or thirties. The audacity, right?

The universe has a knack for bringing people together in unexpected situations. In the PH, we have our brutal traffic situation to thank for that. Time is taking a stroll when you’re stuck in traffic, which is enough to know the life stories of all passengers.

Seeing homeless people soliciting money isn’t new for Pinoys. However, what can catch you off guard is when these people become assertive when you don’t give them your spare change.

UV Express vans might look more comfortable to ride, but nobody talks enough about the struggles of opening that stubborn back door! Either you try opening it with all your might or succumb to the glares of other passengers. And heaven forbid the driver catches on to what’s happening because he might go bonkers.

When you’re too tired to function, any public vehicle would look like a five-star hotel to you. There’s nothing wrong with trying to get some sleep on your way to wherever. We love that for you. But try to do it with a piercing alarm on standby so you don’t wake up in an unfamiliar city. Trust us, it’s more embarrassing if the driver has to be your wake-up call!
