Whether spelled “Sarah” or “Sara,” we all know a few people with that very name in our lives. Some are singers, some are actresses, some are fictional princesses who have spent too much time cutting potatoes to flaunt their suddenly nonexistent lavish lifestyle.
Sadly, not all Sarahs are created equal, and there are those who are, shall we say, not among our favorites. We will not be talking about them today.
Let’s celebrate just 8 of our favorite people named Sarah, such as…
Elegant, classy, and a Grade A survivor. If you can survive having Anabelle Rama as a mother-in-law, you can absolutely survive anything. She’s the kind of person who looks every bit as glamorous as the brands she models for. This is one Sarah who won’t make you cringe if you met her for the first time and she spoke to you with a British accent.
Is there a difference between a Sarah and a Sara? Well, we all know that the “h” stands for “honesty.” We kid, of course, especially when you consider that Ms. Bareilles was up front enough about the fact that she’s not gonna write you a love song. We stan Saras who are all about being truthful and have nothing to hide!
A true advocate and one of the bravest voices of the 90s, Sara Jane Salazar put a face to the HIV/AIDS struggle at a point when the stigma over it was at its peak. In 2025, nobody looks at HIV/AIDS as an automatic death sentence anymore, and Sara Jane’s courage in the face of adversity will never be forgotten. Changing the way the country saw HIV/AIDS? That’s a project worth undertaking.
In an alternate world, we would be fighting the Skynet regime, and Sarah Connor would be leading the charge. Where other people who share her name would much rather prop up a regime than dismantle it, this is one Sarah who is anything but corruptible. Truly an all-time great.
VJ Sarah to us ’90s kids, this was someone who showed that you could make your way through this world and build a name through hard work, a can-do attitude, and thoughtful writing… instead of the people’s taxes.
Proving that women can do comedy too, Sarah Silverman blazed the trail for a lot of comedic voices in the industry. While not all of us may be fans of her comedy, we’re just glad that whatever she’s making a mockery of, it’s not our country’s infrastructure or something.
Who doesn’t love Princess Sarah? Despite being stripped of her riches, she endeared all of us by enduring all of that suffering while remaining pure and kind of heart. Here was someone who combined resilience and nobility in the face of adversity. She’s not the kind of Sarah who demands to be treated like royalty.
Was there ever any doubt who we’d have here? Since she first wowed us in 2002 on Star For A Night at the tender age of 14, she has been one of the hardest-working people in Philippine showbiz. This is the kind of Sarah we can all look up to and emulate: someone who took no shortcuts, punched nobody but her ticket to stardom, and made the masses adore her without claiming it as some sort of birthright.
If only more Sarahs (who aren’t on this 8List) were more like that, what a wonderful world we’d live in!
