Whether traveling to another country or just going out for lunch at a nice restaurant, Filipinos love taking photos and videos and creating content. After all, the best way to stay connected to your loved ones wherever you are is to show them the photos and reels we share online. Now, Xiaomi makes it easier to do all that as it just introduced your ideal partner in creating your content: the Redmi Note 13 Series. We got our hands on the base model Redmi Note 13, and here’s what we think:
With a 7.97 mm thin build and a total weight of 188.5 grams, the Redmi Note 13 is as lightweight and handy as a smartphone can be. Even without casing, the phone’s slim body and square edges can give you a secure grip, and thanks to its IP54 certification, you can rest assured that your Redmi Note 13 will stay resistant to dust and splash.
If you like documenting anything and everything in your daily life, the Redmi Note 13 can be your new best friend. Its versatile, upgraded camera system features a 108MP main camera with 3x lossless zoom, a 2MP macro camera, and a 16MP selfie camera, all of which can keep memories in fine, clear images.
Like its predecessor, there are a lot of shooting modes readily available for your choosing: Night Mode for lowlight environment, Panorama for that really wide shot, Portrait for that instant bokeh effect, and Pro for those who want to refine their settings from the get-go. It also offers over a dozen of film(Camera) filters that lets you immediately achieve any cinematic aesthetic you want.
We tried most of these settings in our trip to Bangkok, Thailand (where the Redmi Note 13 series was just launched!), and we loved the results. Whether it was indoor or outdoor, day or night, close-up or wide, we got Insta-worthy shots.
Of course, a smartphone that can take iconic shots needs a display that can keep up with it. The super-clear FHD+ AMOLED display let us enjoy our shots in crystal clear viewing right after we clicked that shutter button.
While you will definitely use it to take photos for the ‘gram, the Redmi Note 13 itself deserves a spot on your feed, too. The phone comes in four color variants: Midnight Black, Mint Green, Ice Blue, and Ocean Sunset, so you can pick whichever fits your style.
On top of its sleek build, versatile camera system, and superb display, the Redmi Note 13 features a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate that lets us enjoy silky smooth scrolling, so we can scroll as much as we want through our feeds and even play as many games as we want. That is, when we’re not creating content.
With how much we can do with this phone, you might be worried about how long it’ll last before power runs out. But not to worry because on our test run, we started at a 100% and took photos and videos nonstop for 3 hours — and still we had 77% by the end of it, which can still last us til the night. And in terms of charging, there’s no need to worry too. Because when we charged the phone, we only had to wait 30 minutes for it to go from 25% to 85% and just another half an hour for a full charge. So we promise: you can always be ready to go with the Redmi Note 13.
Want to add to cart already? The Redmi Note 13 and other models in the series will be available for preorder starting January 16, with the following retail prices:
If you preorder from January 16 to 25, you can get a free Xiaomi Smart Band 8.
Overall, the Redmi Note 13 is a budget-friendly mid-ranger you can rely on for your content creation needs, and you can definitely use it to make your every shot iconic.
To make your content creation arsenal complete, pair your Redmi Note 13 with a Redmi Buds 5 Pro. It comes in three color variants: Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Aurora Purple, and we are absolutely in love with our Aurora Purple unit which goes well with the stylish design of the Redmi Note 13.
The Redmi Buds 5 Pro offers up to 52dB active noise cancellation (ANC), three ANC modes, an AI adaptive mode, and three additional transparency modes. We haven’t fully tried each of those modes, but we did try the Redmi Buds 5 Pro in two loud places: the plane and the street. And boy, did we really get some peace and quiet, with much of the sound around us truly muted. So we can say with confidence that the ANC of the Redmi Buds 5 Pro can truly deliver.
The Redmi Buds 5 series will be available at an Early Bird Price from January 16 to 25, 2024.
