Staying until most of the people in the arena leave is a good way to win freebies. Athletes usually hand out freebies and free autographs for those who stay in the arena after the games.

If you’re going to catch the Olympics for a specific main event, make sure to only purchase good tickets for the said sport. There are many other places to catch other games that do not interest you fully, such as bars, the hostel, and the streets. All these places will maintain great atmosphere, thanks to Rio being an incredibly festive city.

So, you got there a week early, you’re staying in a hostel, and you’ve been using your money wisely, but the tickets are sold out! Fear not, there are always scalpers roaming around the venues that usually offer their tickets for prices cheaper than original. It may be frowned upon, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
