The Manila comeback of the cast of Running Man was primed to be a night full of laughter and happiness. And that’s exactly what happened last Saturday, July 6 at their show Running Man “Run 2 U” in Manila at the Mall of Asia Arena. Filipino Runners (a.k.a. the show’s fans) had a blast watching Yu Jaeseok, Jee Seokjin, Kim Jongkook, HaHa, Song Jihyo, and Yang Sechan play games, perform solo and unit stages, and interact with fans, too. Here are 8 of the best moments that we’re sure fans will never forget from “Run 2 U” in Manila.

The cast opening with BTS’ “Spring Day”

Though it was a night filled with laughter, we admit that we teared up at the beginning of the show. It’s all thanks to the cast’s heartfelt performance of “Spring Day” by BTS, which was an apt song choice after three long years apart.

Throughout the event, the Running Man cast members spoke in Filipino, greeting their Pinoy fans in the local language, saying “mahal kita” and “namiss ko kayo.”

Seokjin even said his favorite Filipino food are sisig and lechon!

Bohemian Rhapsody

The cast’s maknae Yang Sechan gave a powerful performance of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, even accurately imitating Freddie Mercury’s iconic ay-oh’s with the crowd.

Centaurs

One of the unit stages the cast prepared featured Yu Jaeseok, HaHa, and Song Jihyo performing a mix of rap (Jaeseok and HaHa) and ballad (Jihyo). But of course, with a Running Man twist — Jaeseok and HaHa came out wearing inflatable horse bodies, making them look like centaurs, making the audience roar with laughter.

Jihyo and Jongkook

While there were several unit stages, perhaps one of the fan favorites is the duet of Jihyo and Jongkook. The song they performed was about two lovers fighting and then eventually making up, igniting kilig across the venue.

Abs reveal

A couple of the cast members gave their Filipino fans a surprise. After being asked about the body part he’s most confident in, Sechan pulled up his shirt and showed his abs. The audience couldn’t help but chant Jongkook’s name, and the gym buff obliged with a glimpse of his six pack.

Thanks to their witty and accurate cosplays, some lucky Filipino runners also had the chance to meet their idols upclose and personal. They got to hug the Running Man cast members, snap photos, and even play games with them on stage.

20-minute fan service while performing

After delivering their final words, the Running Man cast members performed several songs for their fans for nearly 20 minutes — all while interacting with fans, giving out hearts and hugs, holding their hands, and even taking photos with their phones! Living up to their show’s name, the cast members were running all over the place just to interact with as many fans as possible.

Bonus: Running Man Philippines opened the show. The Filipino cast members gave strong performances of Pinoy hits, including Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala”, SB19’s “Gento”, BINI’s “Pantropiko” and “Salamin-Salamin”, and Alamat’s “Maharani”.
