This is the second “leap of faith” that Shane has done in his career and showed to the world that what he lacked in training, he made up for it by having brass balls. In his Last Man Standing match against the Big Show in Backlash 2001, Shane climbed up to the very TOP of the scaffolding and did a huge 50-foot dive onto the Big Show, a fall that looked like it hurt him more than he did his 7-ft tall foe.

This is the first leap, the first time Shane proved he’s crazy, the first time Shane proved that he’s willing to risk it all for the sake of entertaining a crowd. Having won the Hardcore Title from “The Lethal Weapon” Steve Blackman, Shane faced the karate master in a rematch in SummerSlam in 2000.
Singapore cane in hand, Blackman chased McMahon all the way to the Titantron scaffolding. He then smashed McMahon’s back until the latter fell around 40 feet to the platform below. Proving “Lethal Weapon” wasn’t just a fancy-shmancy nickname, Blackman then did a diving elbow to the downed McMahon, winning the Hardcore belt in the process.
After a long and exhausting network war, WWE purchased their biggest rival WCW. Vince McMahon revealed that he bought his competition and gloated about it on an episode of Monday Night Raw. With ego getting the better of the elder McMahon, Shane seized an opportunity and revealed that it was actually him, and not his father who bought WCW.
“I now own WCW,” exclaimed Shane to a shocked Vince. Aside from being able an ungodly amount of pain, Shane’s a pretty shrewd businessman. He pulled a fast one on THE Vincent Kennedy McMahon!
And here we are. The prodigal son has returned. If you didn’t mark out once his music hit, you’d be lying. He’s back after six years and he’s about to face The Deadman at the biggest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. Also, he’s going up against the guy who did a flying chokeslam on him, a guy with the best win-loss Wrestlemania record, and a guy who’s damn name is The Undertaker.
Will we see Shane do another leap from the very top of the arena? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, his return is something hardcore fans desperately needed. Hopefully Shane is able to breathe continuous new life into the product, a product that has delivered some disappointing stories and angles of late. As any of these entries dictate, Shane’s willing to do anything to entertain the WWE fans. Professional wrestling is looking good in 2016. Here comes the money!
