We’re really making the most out of our Netflix subscriptions during this quarantine; Netflix Party was one of the biggest things that helped us reduce the distance between loved ones in the past months. But there are plenty of other ways to stream content with friends, especially when you want to see shows or movies that aren’t available on Netflix. We’ve rounded up some extensions, apps, and sites for movie streaming you can use for your next barkada hangout:
What you can share: Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, Prime Video, HBO Max, Vimeo, and Funimation
Missing watching movies in the theater with your friends? All you have to do is create a virtual theater on Scener and send the invite link to your friends. Scener has a live chat and video feature, which is a fun way to see everyone’s reactions, especially when watching a horror movie.

What you can share: YouTube, Netflix, Vimeo, Google Drive, Reddit, and more
You can easily stream videos or music on Rave while chatting or going on a voice call with your friends. It’s a mobile app, which makes it convenient as you can watch anywhere without bringing a bulky laptop.
What you can share: YouTube and local files on your computer
Gaze only allows two people for streaming, which is perfect for couples who want to decrease the long distance while on quarantine. Other than syncing YouTube, you can recall your previous travels as you can also sync video files from your computer. The best part is you can do this while chatting or video calling.
What you can share: Pretty much anything – videos, shows, games, and more.
Kast is a video streaming tool where you can pretty much stream anything in real-time. Think of it as something like Zoom or Google Meet where you can share your screen and enjoy a live chat, but without the video call option. Up to 100 people are allowed per session, and members don’t have to create their own accounts.
What you can share: YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, and SoundCloud
Watch2Gether is a Chrome extension that lets you spend time 2gether (LOL) with loved ones even when you’re apart. You don’t have to create accounts for enjoying streaming as a group. All you have to do is create a room, share its link, and enjoy the built-in chat feature. Want to go (online) window shopping with your friends for some retail therapy? Watch2Gether also allows you to browse and shop on Amazon.
What you can share: Music
While Spotify can’t let two physically separated people listen to music together just yet, you can do so via Plug.dj. You can even be your own DJ and host rooms, or join others and interact with people who have the same taste in music. There are tons of genres you can choose from indie, pop, to even ambient music for relaxation.
What you can share: Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Twitch, Crunchyroll, and more
Metastream is an extension you can install both on Chrome and Firefox. It’s perfect for friends who enjoy gaming and watching anime! Some of its best features include a built-in chatbox, timestamp markers, and a playlist for queueing media you want to watch next.

What you can share: YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, and SoundCloud
MyCircleTV is another streaming website that allows you to enjoy streaming without the hassle of creating accounts. But if you do, you’ll get a free 5GB cloud storage for videos. They pride themselves in their voice call feature, which you can enjoy while streaming.
