8 Things that Will Happen to You When You Quit White Rice

4. Meals are no longer followed by food comas.

Remember the everyday struggle of staying energized as you go back to work after a big lunch of white rice plus viand? That will become a faded memory that you can recall as you pat yourself on the back, amused with your new, light and awake self.

3. The memory of sushi, arroz caldo and other white rice treats feel like acid on an open wound.

You’ll come to terms with eating colored rice with adobo or sinigang, but the longing for other treats made from white rice will still be very much real. You’ll find the inner strength and stay willing to commit as many workout hours as needed just so you can savor sushi, arroz caldo, champorado and other white rice treats again.

2. You’ll go on a research frenzy proving that your decision is right.

During times of weakness, you’ll need to remind yourself that white rice and other kinds of refined carbohydrates are almost devoid of nutritional content. Finding articles on the net that discuss the negative implications of eating white rice will soothe your soul. Information saying that white rice is like an injection of sugar and converts into stored fat will basically be your gold.

1. You’ll try white rice again and realize that the struggle of the switch was really unnecessary.

The inevitable day that no white rice alternative is available will come, and you’ll be forced to relapse. You’ll be so afraid that the taste of white rice would lure you back to the dark side, but then you’ll realize that it really tastes a lot like colored rice. There’s not much difference taste and texture-wise, except colored rice is way better for your (future) hot bod.
