Butterflies eating corpses aren’t the only weird things in this world. Let’s forget about reality for a bit and get with the grotesque.
If you ever think that reproductive health education is useless, then you’re gonna need to hear this. A pregnant woman from China went to the hospital asking for an abortion when doctors found a metal spring enveloped in her vaginal tissue. When asked about it, she said that she saw it on the workshop floor, washed it, and inserted it in her vagina, hoping it would act as an intrauterine device (IUD).
They had to cut up the coil into seven pieces to safely take it out of her. The procedure lasted 40 minutes. Luckily, she didn’t get any infections or permanent damage to her organ tissue.
Marriage is all about sticking with each other through anything; through the good times, the bad times, and the times that you sleep walk and end up swallowing your engagement ring. Jenna Evans had a dream that she and her husband-to-be Bobby, were in a dire situation that involved bad guys on speeding trains who wanted to steal the ring, so naturally, she swallowed it to protect it. Turns out she did it in real life, too.
This story ends with a happy ending: Bobby took Jenna out to a fast food buffet. Jenna updated her vows with promising to never swallow the ring again.
A tour bus was traveling through Iceland, and soon realized that there was a missing passenger. They instigated a search party, only to find out that the missing passenger just changed her clothes and was already on the bus in the first place.
Sometimes, you have to get lost– err, missing, to find yourself.
Worshiping milk tea isn’t unfamiliar to us, but at Buddhist temples in Thailand are now accepting these heavenly drinks as holy offerings. Apparently, soda drinks and Starbucks coffee are also accepted now, too.
Milk tea is (after)life, sizt.
Boxing coach Ramon Sosa from Texas was going through a tough divorce with his wife, Lulu. She approached Gustavo, who turned out to be Ramon’s friend. They got the Texas cops involved as well as the FBI to have him convincingly fake his death. They caught Lulu and sentenced her to 20 years in prison.
Happily never after.
While we always see butterflies as beautiful creatures, the Internet was shocked to hear that their diet don’t just consist of flowers. Because nectar doesn’t contain enough nutrients, they get most of their sodium from rotting fruit, corpses, feces, and urine. *shudder*
Joe Heller was a wacky personality, and his daughter Monique made sure that his legacy lived on. So she wrote an obituary that paid tribute to her father’s sense of humor. She wrote, “There wasn’t a road, restaurant or friend’s house in Essex that he didn’t fall asleep on or in,” adding that he “left his family with a house full of crap, 300 pounds of birdseed and dead houseplants that they have no idea what to do with.”
His funeral was just as playful, as attendees came in “the most inappropriate T-shirt that you are comfortable being seen in public with, as Joe often did.”
This started a new trend in writing obituaries, aptly called “Joe-bituaries”.
A woman in Nebraska almost burned her entire apartment building down because she decided to burn her ex’s love letters with a butane torch… and then took a nap.
No one was injured, just highly inconvenienced because this woman tried to be dramatic.
Lesson learned, humugot sa open spaces lamang.
