The end of the week is now upon us, congratulations you can now go on full-on [REST] mood. While the world is still a little crazy, that doesn’t mean we can’t take a break from all the chaos. With that being said, here’s the weirdest news from the week!

Eating and drinking while wearing a face mask is practically impossible. This is why scientists in Mexico invented nasal masks that are supposed to protect ourselves from COVID-19. Do they work, though? It may be better than nothing, but the World Health Organization recommends masks that cover the nose, mouth, and chin. Experts are even advising people to start double-masking, so we’re not too keen about this new invention…
A woman was surprised to see two sausages and a note on her doorstep. It turns out that it was someone’s way of confessing their love for her. Eleanor Holland who’s already in a long-term relationship, says that although she’s flattered she finds this confession weird. She also suspects that her secret admirer is probably a “town bachelor” randomly looking for love.

We can all agree that we hate seeing mice right? Unfortunately, large rural portions of inland New South Wales and Queensland in Australia have now been overrun by thousands of rodents. These mice have not only eaten hundreds of crops but have also invaded the homes of different residences. The problem is so bad that even water tanks have now been infested by mice.

Wedding cakes are one of the most important things when you plan for the big day. This is why this restaurant owner was surprised to see this very unconventional cake arrive while they were preparing for a reception. Although the cake looks yummy, it had the words “No inscription please” written on top. The baker, however, insisted that the groom asked the cake to be decorated like that.

A woman from Florida was found naked and stuck in a canal after she was reported missing. The woman, who the police identified as “Ms. Kennedy”, said that she was just swimming when all of the sudden she woke up at the drainage system. Her mother said that “Ms. Kennedy” has had a string of doing odd things and has taken illegal drugs in the past.
After one Taiwanese sushi chain announced a promo that would give any customer whose ID card contains “Gui Yu” (the Chinese characters for salmon) all-you-can-eat sushi, along with five friends, chaos ensued. People started taking advantage of it by actually changing their names. (Taiwan allows people to change their name up to three times.)
Taiwanese officials had to urge the public to stop this kind of name-changing. “[It] not only wastes time but causes unnecessary paperwork,” deputy interior minister Chen Tsung-yen said. “I hope everyone can be more rational about it.”
According to the United Daily News, one resident added 36 new characters to his name, most seafood-themed, like the characters for “crab”, “abalone”, and “lobster”.
A man from Kidapawan City lost his shot at a job after his employer found out that he had a knife inside him. According to him, he was stabbed last January and was treated soon after. However, he didn’t know that the doctors had stitched up the wound with the blade still inside him.
