Though online learning is still an ongoing debate, a new school year is coming soon and students have found another inspiration to work harder for their dreams. Beauty, brains, and a loving relationship? Yes, that can all be achieved when you’re Tiffany Uy. She just graduated from medical school as class valedictorian again and everyone’s just in awe from this achievement. Mapapa-“sana all” ka na lang talaga.
She is the model student everyone wants to become. In 2015, she got people talking after earning her degree in BS Biology from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a 1.004 weighted average. This is the highest weighted average in UP since World War II! She graduated as summa cum laude along with 28 students that school year.
Tiffany got straight unos except for one subject, Art Studies I, where she got a grade of 1.25. Passing the university’s entrance exam is a huge feat in itself, but graduating with flying honors? She achieved this while having a social life and a loving relationship! Honestly, how did she balance everything?

Being the daughter of doctors, she decided to pursue this career as well and entered medical school in the same year. Five years later, she just graduated from UP Manila’s College of Medicine as a class valedictorian again. Aside from being magna cum laude, Tiffany also bagged an award for Academic Excellence in medicine.

And that’s totally okay; life isn’t a race anyway. It doesn’t matter how long the journey took; what matters most is you’ll arrive in the destination eventually. Remember one of the stories we were told as kids: the turtle won the race.
mali ang itzy, i dont wanna be me. i wanna be somebody, i wanna be miss tiffany uy. https://t.co/4tqsNMpCiv

Alexa, play Wanna Be by Itzy!
Tiffany Uy is like the character you read in fictions – straight As, studies in a prestigious university, outright pretty, has a strong academic outlook, walks with an oozing confidence of being able to answer whatever question you throw at her because she studies every night.

A protagonist straight out of a [Y/N] fiction or your favorite Webtoon. She’s that character everyone loves: the ideal student, daughter, and romantic partner.
share ko lang kaklase ko siya sa PI 100 kay sir nilo ocampo. one time may tinanong si sir about his book tapos nasagot niya. siya lang ata nakabasa sa class namin eh 90+ kami. haha
kahit san mapunta valed si tiffy. ganda talino may jowa pa. napakagaling nakakaiyak isipin huhu https://t.co/hLJutpj6xq

Remember those recitations in college where you can hear a pin drop because everyone’s just too pressured and no one can answer the question? Tiffany must be like that student who makes everyone breathe again because she finally got the answer. And how remarkable is that? Out of 90, she’s the only one who had the time to read their professor’s book.
i have stanned tiffany uy since her summa cum laude moments back in 2015. i can’t believe she graduated valedictorian again – not to mention, as a magna cum laude in med school……….. IN MED SCHOOL!!!
lordt……. stop playing favorites https://t.co/PMUxg0hl50— kitkat (@kathmdn) July 26, 2020

But Tiffany did share that she’s had her share of failed exams and struggle too, even to a point where she wanted to give up. Just like most things in life, we’ll learn how to get back on our feet again, no matter how stressful school gets! To achieve your dreams, you can’t skip on the bad or challenging parts leading up to it.
Tiffany Uy needs to spill her study routine cause I am struggling to search for the most effective one 😩

So how did Tiffany Uy become a valedictorian, twice, in the most prestigious university in the country? In an earlier interview with ABS-CBN, she shared some helpful life tips. Despite having a record-breaking achievement in the university, Tiffany said that grades don’t really matter and one should focus on learning: “Grades are really not important. At the end of the day, a number or piece of paper won’t mean anything. When I make a mistake, I get sad not because of the number. But I worry. What if that mistake means someone will die on my table someday? I guess that’s the motivation.”
Another notable tip is how parents should not pressure their kids. It’s a common trait that Filipinos can’t easily get rid of, especially with a culture that’s fond of comparing one’s child with another. Tiffany shared that her parents never pressured her, and accepted that side of her that’s fond of getting into hobbies, procrastinating, and watching TV. At the end of the day, it’s all about balance anyway. You can still reach great heights without sacrificing your sanity or the things you love!
We just know she would make a great doctor someday. Good luck, Tifanny!
