Yup, you can talk to Doc Tricia Robredo on Reddit, a social news website for thousands of forums. Last October 1, Tricia, former vice president Leni Robredo’s daughter, posted on the subreddit r/Philippines and started a “Morning Ask Me Anything” where she will be answering questions from 10 AM to 12 NN.
To date, the post already has 1k comments with more questions added every hour. Tricia has already responded to some of the questions with answers ranging from witty to inspirational (as expected of the Internet’s girl crush).
For instance, when a Redditor asked her what she was currently reading and what her favorite book is, she simply answered “I am currently reading your questions.” Where is the lie?
Asked about her signature scent, the beloved licensed doctor answered it was her sweat. Valid.
She also shared her biggest pet peeve that’s #relatable:
But of course, you’ll learn useful things from Tricia’s AMA too. To someone who asked her for effective study tips, she replied to take notes, get enough sleep, and budget your time.
She also gave tips on how to get into Harvard, where she’s currently pursuing a Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery degree. Tricia said the first step is identifying the program you want to pursue and working things out (your application, scholarships, etc.) from there.
When another Redditor asked her what her future goals in life are seeing as she’s already “achieved a lot of great things,” Tricia comforted everyone by saying she’s still figuring things out (just like everyone else) and that she gets anxious about the future too.
After the first of the election results got in and it was evident that her mother, former Vice President Leni Robredo, would not win, Tricia left a message of hope and comfort for their supporters. Now, she gives everyone a glimpse of what life is like after the fact.
“I don’t think a lot has changed honestly, at least for me and my sisters. Even when Mama was in politics, we lived our own lives and we still kept a lot of things to ourselves,” answered Tricia. She said since they knew both of her parents’ political careers were temporary, the family “made it a point to pursue our own paths.”
“Kaya hindi rin kami masyadong nanibago after the term I guess kasi bumalik kami sa kanya-kanya naming trabaho o mga hilig,” she added.
The Robredo sisters are sweet and supportive of each other as ever, even when they’re apart from each other. One Redditor asked Tricia which qualities of her sisters she wished she had. Tricia said she wished she was as responsible as Aika and as smart as Jillian.
If you want to ask Tricia anything, go ahead and comment on this thread!
Last June, Tricia was accepted at the Harvard Medical School for her residency program, much to her mother’s delight. The younger Robredo has been admitted to the Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery program since the semester started on August 31. Atty. Leni shared on a Facebook post that her daughter postponed her medical residency twice due to the pandemic and to help with her mother’s presidential campaign.
“She applied at the Harvard Medical School Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery, suntok sa buwan. And she got accepted!!” wrote Atty. Leni.
While she was in the Philippines, Robredo was a licensed doctor working in the ER and helping the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) COVID-19 response operations.
Meanwhile, Tricia’s sisters, Jillian and Aika, graduated from prestigious universities abroad too. Jillian, the youngest, recently graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Economics and Mathematics. Aika, the eldest, earned her Masters in Public Administration degree from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
