The mother and step-father of a 15-year old girl were recently arrested in New Zealand for subjecting her to four years of torture. The reason? The adults thought the teenager was a witch, the NZ Herald reports.
The parents would force the girl to take freezing cold baths until she suffered from hypothermia. Other incidents show the step-father forcibly cutting chunks out of the teenager’s hair, strangling her until her vision went blurry, tying her legs with electrical cord so tight that she’d struggle to walk afterwards, and more.
The couple believed the 15-year old was possessed. The court in Auckland found the couple guilty, with the step-father sentenced to two-years and three-months in prison for jointly intentionally engaging in conduct that would harm the teenager, four months for the male assaults female, nine months for a representative charge of male assaults female and three months for common assault. The mother meanwhile was sentenced to one-year and nine-months for jointly intentionally engaging in conduct that would harm the teenager and three months for common assault.
In I’m-broke-I’ll-do-anything-for-money news this week, a mother in Russia has pleaded for her daughter to come home after claims of the latter flying to Dubai to sell her virginity for £10,000 (roughly above Php 600,000).
17-year old Anna Feschenko was a runner-up in the Miss Moscow contest which was held last June. She flew to the United Arab Emirates and told her mother this was a prize from the pageant. However, Anna’s friends denied the claim and said her true goal was to join an escort service in Dubai and offer her virginity for a price. She said she was going to use the money to pay for her college education.
Anna’s friend alerted her mother and is now currently in touch with her daughter and is expecting her to come home soon. Meanwhile, Russian police are investigating social media and dating sites featuring “pay-for-virgins” offers.
In a scene that would make the guys behind Oldboy blush, cosplayer Namada wore and posed with an 18kg live octopus for a photoshoot with photographer Kazan Yamamoto.
Though everyone knows Japan has a thing for tentacle-themed erotica, Yamamoto said mimicking the genre was not his intention.
It wasn’t all fun and games posing with the octopus. In an interview with Mashable, Namada said she found it hard to wash off the octopus slime, and the octopus even shot out ink as a bid to protect itself. Octopuses also have beaks in their mouths and there was a chance that it could have bitten Namada during the shoot. Octopus bites normally result in bruising and swelling. Luckily for Namada, she left the shoot uninjured.
Later on, the team behind the shoot cooked the octopus with Namada even posing for a few photos with the now-delicious creature.
