Last year was stressful AF, and if you’re like us, you found yourself escaping the stress through sleep. But even then, sometimes, stress still haunts you in your dreams. A good way to fix this is through the use of a weighted blanket.
A weighted blanket is a blanket filled with glass beads or plastic pellets that add weight to the fabric, which, when used during sleep, provides pressure on the body and creates a sense of calm and relieves stress. Some weighted blankets also have extra layers of fabric on top of the beads or pellets inside. Be warned: they are dangerous for children (the beads or pellets might fall out and become a choking hazard!).
It works similarly to an occupational therapy technique called deep touch pressure therapy. This technique makes use of the fact that pressure on the body increases serotonin release in the brain, which means bye bye stress! So if you’ve been having trouble sleeping, a weighted blanket may be just the thing that can help you, and we know just where you can get them.
Cuddle Buddy PH is an online store that has sold hundreds of weighted blankets in just the past few months. They’ve got a range of weights and sizes available, so you just need to take your pick. You can find them on Instagram. Prices start at PHP 2,695.
