A woman in China died of thirst and starvation after being trapped in an elevator for a month. This was after elevator maintenance workers improperly cut off power on January 30 without checking if anyone was inside. When crew members returned a month later, it was only then they found the body of the woman. Police are considering the case to as involuntary manslaughter and confirmed arrests have been made. Building residents have staged a protest on the building’s management for gross negligence. Residents also assert that the elevator has been faulty for a while, with their complaints routinely ignored.
A five-year old girl was repeatedly stabbed by her own mother while hearing mass in a church in Mandaue City, Cebu. Merlyn Abao, 29, walked to the altar with her daughter, burst into hysterics and screamed “aswang sila” before stabbing her daughter with a broken bottle. Other people in the Church were quick to intervene and pacify Abao and took her daughter to the Mandaue City District Hospital for treatment. The girl has recuperated from her injuries. Abao is currently being charged for attempted parricide.

After months in hiding, “butcher dentist” Jacobus van Nierop has appeared in court to face charges of mutilation from more than 100 patients. He is alleged to have used unnecessary procedures, improper equipment and heavy anesthetics to inexplicably remove healthy teeth and render patients with agonizing results. One former patient described how van Nierop, 51, pulled out eight teeth in one sitting. The patient then bled for three days straight. Another patient said van Nierop left “pieces of flesh hanging” after removing a tooth. The former dentist faces charges of defrauding French social security and “wilful violence causing mutilation and permanent injury.”

Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, is in court seeking $100 million in damages from website Gawker for posting an edited version of his sex tape without permission. Yes, he has a sex tape and no, we don’t recommend that you search for it. The trial made a weird turn from the very start thanks to the present jury, who thought that wrestling is real and had a weird grip on reality.
Attorney: Do you follow wrestling?
Juror: “Yeah, when it was real back in the day.” #hulkvsgawk— Anna Phillips (@annamphillips) March 2, 2016
Attorney asks somewhat seriously if anyone was upset when Hogan slammed Andre the Giant or when he became “Hollywood Hogan” #hulkvsgawk

Further testimony reveals how Hulk Hogan separated his real life to that of his wrestling persona. Gawker lawyer Michael Sullivan played a recording of Hogan implying that he had a 10-inch penis in a radio interview. Hogan then replied saying how that was the size of his character’s penis, and not his actual one. Okay then.
Things got even weirder when former Gawker editor in chief Albert J. Daulerio was asked where they drew the line when it came to posting sex videos. In a New York Times article, it stated that Hogan’s lawyer Douglas E. Mirell asked Daulerio the following question: “Can you imagine a situation where a celebrity sex tape would not be newsworthy?” Daulerio’s response? “If they were a child,” the age of the child to be four, to be exact.
Stay classy, Gawker. We can only imagine how this trial will turn out.
