Surprise! Chris Evans, a.k.a. everyone’s OG Hollywood crush, is now reportedly married to Alba Baptista. Is that the agonized screams of women we hear from the distance? This is, after all, an event worth busting out a pint of ice cream and eating it in bed while watching your favorite rom-com for the nth time. But don’t worry, ladies. Chris is in good hands. And if you don’t already know her, here are fast facts about the lucky woman who took our Captain America off the market.

She hails from Portugal

Alba Baptista was born in Lisbon, Portugal to a Portuguese mother and a Brazilian father. She attended a German school in Portugal and can reportedly speak Portuguese, German, English, French, and Spanish.

She was born in 1997

Alba just recently celebrated her 26th birthday last July 10, a month after Chris celebrated his 42nd on June 13.

She is an actress

When she was 15 years old, Alba decided she wanted to be an actress. The following year, she starred in Simão Cayatte’s short film Miami, which won her a Best Actress award at the Festival Ibérico de Ciné. She went on to star in Portuguese series and telenovelas.

Alba’s first English-language lead role was Ava from Netflix’s Warrior Nun released in 2020. It went on for two seasons before it was canceled in 2022. She then went on to be part of the 2022 historical comedy-drama Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.

She met Chris Evans in 2021

Alba and Chris have kept their relationship private so it’s difficult to pinpoint where they met. However, internet sleuths have noticed that it was in 2021 that Alba started following Chris and his family on Instagram.

Fast forward to November 2022, the pair were spotted together in public for the first time, walking through Central Park.

Last January 2023, Chris hard-launched his then-girlfriend through a 45-second Instagram story of him pranking her. The adorable caption read “A look back at 2022.” We all remember this video (don’t lie!). Unfortunately, Chris has since deleted his Instagram account.

Reports say the couple tied the knot at an intimate wedding in Cape Cod, Massachusetts last September 9, 2023. According to Page Six, the event was super private with guests signing NDAs and phones being forfeited. The report also said that Chris’ Marvel co-stars were present, including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.
