We’re only a few days away from the lockdown anniversary, but still, life goes on. For most of us, this week is just another work/school week. So if you’re looking for a break in the monotony, maybe these feel-good stories would make you feel ~emotions~ again.

ICYMI part 2 — The CW is adapting The Powerpuff Girls into a live-action series, and they just announced their cast. Chloe Bennet of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fame will play little miss perfect Blossom, Dove Cameron (Descendants) is bubbly sweet girl Bubbles, while Yana Perrault is tough badass chick Buttercup.
This live-action adaptation will follow our favorite trio as twentysomethings who are tired of life after a childhood full of crime-fighting. It sounds like a darker version of the colorful childhood show, but we hope it’s just as fun to watch as the original cartoon!
Screaming on the inside!!!!!!
It’s an honor to be the voice of an iconic character such as Alexandra Trese. I’m a huge fan of Budjette and KaJO’s award-winning Trese comics. Maraming salamat! Excited nako! ❤️ #Trese #Netflix @Netflix_PH @shaymitch pic.twitter.com/QjCI9EAquY— Liza Soberano (@lizasoberano) March 8, 2021
ICYMI, Netflix has officially cast the heroine of their upcoming animated adaptation of Trese. Actress Liza Soberano will voice Alexandra Trese in the Filipino language version, while Filipino-Canadian actress Shay Mitchell will do the English version.
The Trese adaptation was supposed to be released in 2020 but has been postponed due to the pandemic. So far, no other news has been announced, so we still have to stay tuned for the new release schedule.
One of the most-watched limited series on the platform, the critically acclaimed Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit was adapted from Walter Tevis’ 1983 novel of the same name. Now, Broadway is bringing Beth Harmon’s story to the stage — as a musical! Not much about the project is known so far, other than Level Forward being the producer of the musical adaptation.
A lot of people celebrated International Women’s Day, but this might be the cutest way we’ve seen so far. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted a video of himself and his daughter Tiana, where he encouraged her to tell herself that she’s pretty, awesome, and smart! It ended adorably with Dwayne asking her to say “Daddy’s the best”, which she does until she shouts “Mother!” at the end.
Local fashion brand ÀMEN just released their latest mask collection, and they held an online fashion show with 3D finger puppets as their models. These puppets were made to resemble iconic women like Catriona Gray, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Heart Evangelista, and even the girls of Blackpink! You can watch the mini fashion show on their Instagram page.
“Sundin ang tibok ng puso. Sundan ang sariling bahaghari” is what is written on the Linya-Linya graphic t-shirt. It’s in reference to Lualhati Bautista’s Facebook post last 30 December 2020 when she talked about her concerns over no one reading her poems written from the 1970s even after she published them. She closed it by saying that she should follow her gut and simply find something to put out there. It’s a timely message fit for the current situation we have in the country.
After 47 years in New York, the masterpieces of 9 Filipino artists have come home to the National Museum of the Philippines in Manila. The homecoming exhibition features 115 out of 120 artworks. The artists in the collection include Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Ang Kiukok, Benedicto Cabrera, Jose Joya, Cesar Legaspi, Arturo Luz, Vicente Manansala, Jerry Elizalde Navarro, Hernando Ocampo, and many more. The exhibit will run until 13 February 2022, but you can also view a virtual tour of the exhibit here.
We hope you’re having a SUPER MAR10!
