Streaming services have made it easier than ever to listen to music, but Google has upped the ante with YouTube Music, a new app completely dedicated to music. What makes it different from your current music app? Let us count the ways:
YouTube Music doesn’t just have official releases. It also allows you to listen to covers, live performances, and remixes that you basically can’t find anywhere else.
Your home screen will recommend music based on what you’ve listened to before. But here’s the real gamechanger: it will also make recommendations based on what you’re doing. So if you’re at the gym, it’ll recommend workout music. If you’re on your way home after a long day, it’ll recommend songs that will help keep you entertained during your commute.
Ever wanted to listen to a song whose title totally escapes you? With YouTube Music’s Smart Search, you can look for the song using whatever lyrics you remember, even if they’re not 100% correct, either by typing or using voice search.
Those with eclectic music tastes will be psyched to discover thousands of playlists across any genre, mood, activity, or language, from Philippines Rock Hotlist to Piano Sonatas for Working.
Stay on top of the trends with YouTube Music’s dedicated Hotlist screen.
The features above are available for free, but you can also get an ad-free experience with extra features by subscribing to YouTube Music Premium. Families can sign up for a family plan, which allows up to five family members to share a plan for as low as P199 a month. And starting November 15, students aged 18 and above can enjoy YouTube Music Premium for as low as P65 a month.
See below for the prices:
Android / Play Store and Web | iOS / App Store* | |
YouTube Music Premium | ₱129 | ₱169 |
YouTube Music Premium Family | ₱199 | ₱259 |
YouTube Music Student | ₱65 | ₱65 |
* The pricing for the App store is slightly higher because Apple takes a cut from the transaction.
Subscribers to YouTube Music Premium don’t just enjoy an ad-free music experience, but can also download their favorite songs. It’s extra useful for days when your internet connection is spotty.
YouTube Music Premium subscribers can switch between music videos and songs at a simple tap of a button, for uninterrupted listening and watching.
Try YouTube Music out for yourself! Download the app on Android or iOS.
