Where Are They Now?

The early 2000s saw the rise of  reality contests on television, and it may come as a surprise to most that a lot of our brilliant actors today came from these talent search shows. One of the more popular shows then was Star Circle Quest. To make us feel old,  the show was  from 12 years ago.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back on these former contestants from the first season and see what they are up to now:

8. Joseph Bitangcol

Though he may have not stayed in the talent show for long, he still made name in the industry after his exit. Bitangcol has starred in a lot of television shows of ABS-CBN and GMA-7 since 2004, with his recent stint being a guest star in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

He wedded his non-showbiz girlfriend Frenchesca Tonson last July 2016 and they welcomed their first baby girl two months after.

7. Michelle Madrigal

Shortly after SCQ, Michelle has been a Star Magic talent and starred in some ABS-CBN shows until her move to GMA-7. Aside from being an actress, she’s also a model for men’s magazine FHM and was featured as its cover several times. After 8 years from the network, she then signed up for a contract at Viva Artists Agency in 2015, along with her sister and fellow sexy actress Ehra Madrigal.

She flew to United States early last year to study culinary arts and will be back home this year.

6. Neri Naig

We always see Neri on our social media feeds especially if you follow her husband, Parokya ni Edgar’s vocalist Chito Miranda. But before her relationship with Chito, Neri is an actress who appeared on ABS-CBN teleseryes from time to time after SCQ.

They married twice in 2014: in a civil ceremony and in a formal Tagaytay wedding. Neri had a miscarriage in 2015, but became pregnant again a year after. She has given birth to a baby boy last November.

5. Melissa Ricks

After finishing 4^th runner up, Melissa got a lot of projects  as a Star Magic talent. She had a lot of shows in ABS-CBN over the years. Her roles include Matt Evan’s love interest in some teleseryes and a lead role in 2011’s Nasaan Ka Elisa?  She had a relationship with actor Jake Cuenca.

After giving birth to her daughter with her  boyfriend Charles Togesaki, she became more focused on her baby. However, she still accepts some projects with ABS-CBN from time to time, and she was one of the creators behind Chicken Pork Adobo, a multi-channel online network by ABS-CBN.
