2017: The Year in Celebrity Weddings
By Kyzia Maramara
2017 was a lot of things, but these beautiful celebrity weddings warmed our hearts and gave us a reason to love a year that was challenging.
Camille Pratts and VJ Yambao
Actress Camille Pratts married her boyfriend and childhood friend VJ Yambao in a beautiful gathering at Batangas last January 7. The two got reacquainted and became good friends after almost two decades of no contact. This is Camille’s second wedding, a perfect second chance at love, after her first husband Anthony Linsangan passed away in 2011.
Bangs Garcia and Lloyd Birchmore
Actress Bangs Garcia and her Fil-Brit boyfriend Lloyd Birchmore married in Boracay last January 24. Bangs confessed that it was the third time they got married. The first time at a civil wedding, the second one at an intimate church wedding, and the third is in Boracay. How in love could you get to marry your partner 3 times?
Rochelle Pangilinan and Arthur Solinap
After 9 years of being together, Kapuso actors Rochelle Pangilinan and Arthur Solinap got married last August 8 in Tagaytay. The bride was eye-catching in her Michael Cinco gown that had a gorgeous three-meter train. Their wedding entourage included Max Collins, Dingdong Dantes, Glaiza De Castro, and couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.
Vicky Belo and Hayden Kho
“But when I close my eyes and think of you, I only see… love. Like love, you never give up on anyone. You care more for others than yourself. You never boast. You’re never arrogant. You keep no record of wrongs. You always trust. You always look for the best in everyone. You never look back but keeps on going to the end. And just as love never dies, my love for you too will never perish.” #aKHOandmyBELOved Thank you, @joelserrato, for taking this beautiful photo of my wife.
Celebrity doctors Vicky Belo and Hayden Kho had one of the most lavish weddings this year. The couple exchanged vows in a dreamy Paris wedding last September 2. Other local celebrities who endorse Belo flew to Paris to attend the ceremony dubbed by locals as “wedding of the year.”
Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano
Two years after their civil wedding ceremony, actress Chynna Ortaleza and singer-actor Kean Cipriano had a church wedding last November 7. Chynna wore a gray bridal gown and had a black bouquet, the guests all had black attires, so different from the weddings we’re used to. And unlike any other celebrity wedding, they chose to have an intimate ceremony attended only by a hundred relatives and close friends.
Anne Curtis and Erwan Heusaff
After seven years of being a couple, actress Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff finally got married in a beautiful garden wedding at New Zealand last November 11. Social media was abuzz with the couple’s hashtag #TheWanForAnne, many saying that it definitely set the bar high for a dream wedding. Take a look at their heartwarming wedding video by Jason Magbanua here.
Max Collins and Pancho Magno
Actors Max Collins and Pancho Magno tied the knot last December 11 at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay. Max wore a lovely Francis Libiran gown with intricate embroidery and beadwork. Celebrities who were in attendance include Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, Tim Yap, Andrea Torres, and Rochelle Pangilinan.
Ai Ai Delas Alas and Gerald Sibayan
After a three-year relationship, comedienne Ai Ai and her fiancé Gerald got married last December 12 at Christ the King Parish in Greenmeadows, Quezon City. Ai Ai wore an elegant white ball gown under a beautiful wedding veil edged by colorful hand painted flowers.
