Thursdays have never been so good with Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Arthouse Cinema which screens independent movies previously shown at the Cinemalaya Film Festivals every second and last Thursday of the month. The best part is admission is free! The 100 seating capacity is on a first come first served basis.

For those wanting to learn French, immerse yourself in French culture and watch films screened at Alliance Francaise de Manille. Aside from offering French classes, they also screen classic and contemporary French films and showcases Filipino indie films from time to time. Admission is free and seats are on a first come first served basis.

With the aim of bringing independent Filipino movies to the big screen and closer to the masses, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and SM Cinema introduced Cine Lokal, a new cinema line that houses independent award-winning films and classic films from Filipinos in select SM Malls across the country.
The branches include SM Manila, SM Sta. Mesa, SM North Edsa, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM Bacoor, SM Fairview, and SM Southmall. Two films are chosen to be screened for the duration of two weeks and tickets are priced at Php 150.
