We all know about the five love languages: quality time, physical touch, gift giving, acts of service, and words of affirmation. (Thank you for defining all these, Dr. Gary Chapman.) And fine, maybe we can put everything else under each one, but where’s the fun in that? And with all the changes and advancements popping up around the world, our generation has made our own love languages, however unconventional they may be.
Your notifications are always flooded with stuff like “[Someone] mentioned you in a comment.” or “[Someone] tagged you in a post.” You pretend to be annoyed, but really, you laugh out loud at all the memes they tag you in.
If someone is willing to spend an unholy number of hours in this hellish Metro Manila traffic just to see you, then I’d say that’s L-O-V-E.
A conversation that may or may not have happened to you:
You: nagugutom ako
Someone: kumain ka
You: walang pagkain
Someone: wait
Someone: labas ka
You: excuse you ang sketchy kaya
Someone: labas ka lang dali
Uto-uto ka naman, you went out. Charot lang. Happy ka kasi may delivery sa labas. Saya mo na, saya pa ng tiyan mo.
“Only people [username] has added to their close friends list can see this video.”
Seeing that bright green label on your friend’s Instagram stories made you tear up. It’s the little things that matter the most.
Gusto mo i-curate yung feed mo, but of course, that’s difficult to do on your own. Good thing you have someone willing to take IG- and DP-worthy photos of you, right?
Someone just spent hours upon hours curating songs and arrange them into a playlist made especially for you. It’s even more touching when they burnt it on a CD for you to keep and play (but fine, not all devices even play CDs now, but it’s the thought that counts!).
Sa mahal ng subscription sa Netflix ngayon, it’s really a sign of true love if someone shares their Netflix account with you. What’s mine is yours nga naman daw, eh. True love talaga.
They pick up the meat. They wait for the meat to cook. They cut the meat up. And they even get smoked on. All these without eating as much as everyone else. Pinapauna ka pa for all the good cuts of meat. If that’s not love, then I don’t know what is.
