FeltSon: Tom and Emma Are Igniting Our DraMione Dreams

Every Potterhead will confirm that the moment young Hermione Granger clocked Draco Malfoy square in the face, the DraMione ship sailed. Don’t all young boys act stupid as a way of flirting with the girls they liked? Then maybe Draco was annoying Harry Potter and his gang so Hermione would notice him.
Many years later, it turned out that Potterheads were (kinda) right but it wasn’t Hermione and Draco they were right about, it was Emma Watson and Tom Felton.
Although the pair never explicitly told anyone that they were in a relationship, their frequent mentions in each other’s Instagram is enough to set the entire DraMione fandom ablaze. Here’s a non-timeline of Tom and Emma’s lives intertwining off screen.
2011-2012: Emma Watson told everyone she used to have a crush on Tom Felton
Back in 2011 during an interview for Seventeen, Emma Watson candidly told the entire world of her first crush which happened to be the charming young Tom Felton. She said that she started having a crush on him because “he was a few years older and had a skateboard.” During her 2012 interview with Jonathan Ross, she further admitted that between the ages of 10 and 12 she had a “really terrible crush on Tom Felton.” We understand, Emma, we do.
2012: Emma got friendzoned
In the same interview with Jonathan Ross, Emma said Tom “totally knew” and that he said he saw her as a “younger sister.” Ouch. We have to ask you, Tom, who the heck friendzones Emma Watson? But props to him for being a gentleman, not leading her on and all. Tom might have regretted it somewhere down the road of almost two decades of friendship.
2008: Tom dates Jade Olivia

We jump back to a few years before Emma’s confession. If Tom wanted to confess he had a crush on Emma too (like most of the Harry Potter cast), he must have stopped himself because he had a girlfriend back then. For the better part of his young adult years, Tom dated his Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 2 on-screen wife, Jade Olivia. They broke up in early 2016 and up until the present, Tom Felton has been a free single man.
2006: Emma starts dating

Emma had her fair share of relationships (or rumors of a relationship) including Oxford students, British financiers, and actors. Her relationships mostly last for about 2 years with the latest being Glee star Chord Overstreet (they broke up in 2018). One of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, Emma has always been private about her dating life, much to the paparazzi’s delight since they can spin whatever rumor they want.
November 2018: Emma posts a photo of her and Tom hanging out at the beach and skateboarding

The photo that started it all. It was hashtagged #TFToleratingmysubparskatingskillssince1999.
The post included a selfie of the two looking like they had the cutest date by the beach and a video of both of them on a single skateboard. Tom could be heard saying “Easy with the wobbling. Keep your feet still!” to which Emma, her hands on his shoulders, replies “They are! I’m hanging on to you.”
Like you might have predicted, the #DraMione ship was brought back to life. Not that it ever died. Also, what must Emma have felt like, skating with Tom when she admitted many years before that she had a crush on him because of his skills?
February 2019: Tom snaps a beautiful photo of Emma
Captioned “Friends capture you best” and credited to Tom, the fandom once again went wild when Emma posted the photo. The two obviously hang out often. Tom even revealed to Us Weekly that they “do see each other quite a lot actually. We just don’t always post pictures about it.”
August 2019: Tom and Emma find themselves trending on Twitter again
Seems like these two have been spending quite some time with each other lately, not that we’re complaining! Tom posted a photo of him and Emma in a house in South Africa while he teaches her guitar. Tom and Emma both looked laid back in pajamas, he even looked like he just got out of the shower!
The following day Tom posts another photo shouting out to Emma Watson (EW) in the credits:
October 2019: Tom posts a cute throwback
Tom posted a throwback video of when they were filming the first Harry Potter movie, he even tagged Emma. He and Emma were playing a game with little Daniel Radcliffe watching. This was probably the moment she had that “terrible” crush on him!
In conclusion, is romance in the air for #FeltSon? Who knows! Although one thing’s for sure, we will be watching their Instagram profiles like a hawk for the next few years. #DraMione forever!
