The global fandom of all K-things is continuing to grow, and Netflix is here to deliver more Korean dramas and films for us to watch. The streaming platform just introduced its biggest-yet slate of Korean content, and along with it, a number of favorite Korean actors we’re excited to see again in 2023.

Kim Hee-ae

The World of the Married actress is making her small screen comeback with Queenmaker, where she plays the role of PR genius Hwang Do-hee. After overseeing the Corporate Strategy Team in Eunsung Group for many years, Hwang Do-hee joins the election campaign team of human rights lawyer Oh Kyung-sook (Moon So-ri), nicknamed Ms. Rhino for having survived countless ups and downs, to get her elected as the mayor of Seoul. Queenmaker is set to be released in the Q2 of 2023.

Kim Woo-bin

Less than a year after making his drama comeback in Our Blues, Kim Woo-bin is once again returning to Netflix through Black Knight, based on the popular webtoon Delivery Knight. In 2071, the world has become a place where people depend on respirator masks to breathe due to extreme air pollution. A legendary deliveryman only known as “5-8” (Kim Woo-bin) uses his extraordinary battle skills to bring essentials to those in need. The series also stars Song Seung-heon as Ryu Seok, the sole heir to a chaebol group controlling the world’s remaining oxygen, and Kang You-seok as Sa-wol, a refugee boy who looks up to 5-8. Black Knight is set to be released in the Q2 of 2023.

Ahn Hyo-seop and Jeon Yeo-been

After their successful projects with Netflix, Ahn Hyo-seop (Business Proposal) and Jeon Yeo-been (Glitch, Vincenzo) is now collaborating in this time-slip romance called A Time Called You. A remake of a classic Taiwanese romance drama, this series follows Jun-hee, whose boyfriend passed away a year ago, and who decides to go back in time to meet Si-heon, a man who looks identical to her boyfriend. A Time Called You is set to be released in the Q3 of 2023.

Jung Hae-in

Following the highly acclaimed success of D.P., Jung Hae-in returns in an all-new second season as An Jun-ho, a member of the Deserter Pursuit unit in the Korean military. Along with Jung Hae-in, the series brings together director Han Jun-hee and the same main cast members from the first season, including Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Sung-kyun, and Son Suk-ku, ready to show their teamwork and rock-solid chemistry in the new season. D.P. is set to be released in the Q3 of 2023.

Park Seo-jun and Han So-hee

For the first time, Park Seo-jun and Han So-hee team up Gyeongseong Creature, a creature thriller set in the spring of 1945. The story follows two young people who find themselves facing a monster born out of human greed. Park Seo-jun plays Jang Tae-sang, the owner of the Golden Treasure Pawnshop and the wealthiest man in Seoul, while Han So-hee becomes Yoon Chae-ok, a sleuth best known for her ability to track down anyone, even the dead. Gyeongseong Creature is set to be released in the Q4 of 2023.

Song Kang (and the rest of the ‘Sweet Home’ crew)

After over two long years, we’re finally seeing Song Kang return to the world of Sweet Home! In this second season, the residents of Green Home who were able to escape after risking their lives against their neighbor-turned-monsters and losing many loved ones need to deal with the outside world that has been drastically transformed by the existence of monsters. Along with Song Kang, Lee Jin-uk, Lee Si-young, Ko Min-si, and Park Gyu-young to the second season, and they’re joined by Yoo Oh-seon, Oh Jung-se, Kim Mu-yeol, and Jin-young. Sweet Home is set to be released in the Q4 of 2023.

Suzy

A new face in the Netflix K-content slate, Suzy’s first project on the streaming platform is Doona!, a series based on the original webtoon The Girl Downstairs and directed by Lee Jung-hyo of Crash Landing on You fame. It follows the romance between ordinary university student Won-joon (Yang Se-jong) and former K-pop idol Doona (Suzy) as they learn to live together in a shared house for students. Doona! is set to be released in the Q4 of 2023.

Lee Do-hyun

After his revenge-driven role in The Glory (Part 2 of which is to be released this March!), Lee Do-hyun transforms into Kang-ho, a distinguished prosecutor who grew up under the strict discipline of The Good Bad Mother. Unfortunately, that doesn’t last too long as he meets an unfortunate accident that causes him to lose his memories and revert to a 7-year-old. His mother Young-soon (Ra Mi-ran) decides to become a “bad mother” and raise him once again in this comforting and touching comedy series that tracks the journey of recovery between mother and son.
