ICYMI, Lee Minho recently made his Korea drama comeback in the new space-themed romcom When The Stars Gossip alongside Gong Hyojin. While many K-drama fans are happy to see Lee Minho onscreen again, something else captured the eyes of Filipino fans — that something else being a couple of very familiar canned goods.

Making an unexpected cameo on When The Stars Gossip are two brands of Pinoy de-lata, namely 555 Tuna and Century Tuna.

In the show’s Episode 4, Lee Minho’s character is digging through the locker of Gong Hyojin’s character, which was filled with food and snacks, including the Filipino canned goods.

The familiar canned goods are seen floating around in zero-G as Lee Minho digs through the snacks.

For those curious about what the specific variants of the canned goods are in the show are, Gong Hyojin stocked up on 555 Tuna’s Bicol Express and Century Tuna’s Afritada.

On Tiktok, users also commented on the cameo, noting that the production crew of the show “know their market,” to which another user responded with crying and laughing emojis: “True alam nila na matutuwa na naman tayong mga Pinoy.”

“Buti pa century at 555 naka pag extra sa movie sana ol,” a TikTok user also mused.

Where to watch When The Stars Gossip

Lee Minho plays Gong Ryong, a OBGYN doctor in debt who travels to a space station to join the crew as a space tourist. Despite being poor and in debt, he was able to become a space tourist due to a hidden agenda: as the would-be son-in-law of Korea’s wealthiest chaebol, he is given a task by his potential father-in-law that he can only complete in space.

Meanwhile, Gong Hyojin is Eve Kim, a Korean-American astronaut who is leading her first mission as commander. She wants her first-ever mission to be perfect, but challenges are unavoidable with a space tourist on board.

Coming from two different worlds and with their own missions, they become entangled with each other, and as they spend more time with each other, they start falling for each other.

When The Stars Gossip is available for streaming on Netflix, with new episodes are released every Saturday and Sunday.
