Once you’ve become an adult, the universe suddenly bombards you with responsibilities before you can even figure out how to do them. Taxes, monthly bills, ID renewals—the list goes on. Thankfully, the internet has become everyone’s ultimate helper, even ensuring that your driver’s license stays up to date, so you don’t get into trouble on the road. Here’s how to renew it online:  

Say goodbye to long lines!

In 2025, the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Department of Transportation (DOTr) proudly welcomed the integration of driver’s license renewals through the eGovPH App as part of the government’s broader efforts to make public services more accessible, seamless, and completely paperless for every Filipino.

Before you start, secure your pre-requirements

To keep your online transaction hassle-free, the LTO reminds applicants to secure the following requirements beforehand, as these will need to be uploaded during the process:

Telemedicine Medical Examination

• In the LTO ODLRS Portal, click ‘Telemedicine’
• Book an appointment at your preferred date and time, then complete your online medical examination.

Online Driver’s Enhancement Program (ODEP)

• Inside the LTO ODLRS Portal, click ODEP
• Complete the five-hour online course and pass the exam.

Step-by-step app renewal process

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have an active, verified eGovPH account before beginning.

Step 1: Look for the ‘NGA’ icon on the app.

Step 2: Search for LTO, then click.

Step 3: Choose ‘Online Driver’s Application’, then click ‘Renew Your Driver’s License’.

Step 4: Upload or take clear photos of your Physical Driver’s License (front and back)

Step 5:  Review and verify your information before clicking ‘Submit’. 

Online payment and claiming

eGovPH supports online payment, with a corresponding renewal fee of PHP585 to PHP820, depending on your license type. Once your application is approved, you’ll automatically receive your Electronic Driver’s License, which can be viewed in the eGov App. Even better, it’s valid as a physical card!

For the actual plastic card, you may choose to have it delivered straight to your doorstep or pick it up at your selected LTO district office.
