The Duchess of Sussex is currently on the closing stages of her pregnancy, which we can confirm thanks to the announcement made by the Kensington Palace back in October about the latest Royal baby being welcomed Spring of this year.
Every pregnancy is a wonderful and joyous occasion, but this latest pregnancy by the former actress-turned Royal is an exciting one, as we’ll be able to see two worlds coexisting: the American Celebrity and the Traditional British cultures.
We’re counting down the days of the birth of the newest Royal baby, and here are just some of the things that are running on every crazed Royal’s minds.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now officially on Instagram! The Royal couple’s first Instagram post consists of photos of the two while at work, along with a caption stating their intentions to share the “work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements”, among others through their Instagram account.
The Instagram account is already on the history books, as the Guinness World Records announced that the account has broken the record of the fastest time to gain one million followers on the platform, gaining a million followers in just 5 hours and 45 minutes!
As a former actress, being fashionable already runs in Meghan’s blood; being pregnant didn’t stop the Duchess to dress impeccably chic, serving looks to every engagements she’s done in the past months. From designer clothes to fast fashion, the Duchess has quickly established herself as a style icon.
Prince Harry has always been known as the “fun royal”, so telling jokes here and there is nothing new to the Prince. One new thing the Prince needs to prepare for is to master the art of the dad jokes. During a three-day tour in Morocco, the Prince had a funny moment with the Duchess when one well-wisher congratulated the couple for their pregnancy.
The Prince, feigning shock, quips “What, you’re pregnant?”
To which the Duchess replies while laughing “Surprise!”
Harry then jokingly asks “Is it mine?”
A couple that can joke things like this is a couple we’re stanning forever! #OTP
The Duchess used to run a lifestyle website called The Tig wherein she shared her passion for food and humanitarian work, among others, and that love for a healthy lifestyle will heavily influence how she raises her baby.
According to a source, Meghan’s pregnancy has only made her healthier, as “she eats cleaner, and she’ll probably make her own baby food. It’s going to be clean living for this baby.”
When the announcement about the newest addition to the Royal family was made months ago, the gender of the Duke and Duchess’ baby wasn’t revealed. Now that we’re literally counting down the days for the birth, the couple still wouldn’t reveal if it’s a boy or a girl.
Meghan herself revealed to friends that she wants to raise her baby without any gender-stereotyped. The soon-to-be parents already planned a gender-neutral nursery and plans to raise their baby with a “fluid approach”.
One of the most difficult tasks of being a new parent is naming your kid. Your name is your identity, so picking the right name is an important task one should face. The name of the Royal baby has been a hot topic ever since the announcement, with some even setting up online bets as to what the Royal baby’s name is going to be (creepy, we know!).
We sense Diana if it’s a girl and Philip if it’s a boy. We also don’t mind if they name their baby Rachel Zane, a tribute to her popular character in Suits.
Their Royal Wedding was already a telling indication about their two worlds, so picking godparents for their upcoming newborn will probably have that as well. We expect the Royal Christening to be another big event, with the presence of Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, even the Beckhams serving as godparents.
There’s an on-going rumour that the Duchess is actually carrying twins instead of just one baby. We don’t know if the rumours are actually true, but one thing’s for sure: we can’t wait for this/these baby/babies to arrive!
