Delicious, budget-friendly food, ‘Gram-worthy spots, and vibrant Chinese shops are just some of the things Binondo is known for. But even centuries after its founding, Binondo remains a staple on the itinerary for anyone who wants to experience the best of Manila. The best part? There’s a new spot in the world’s oldest Chinatown, perfect for immortalizing candid moments into newspaper headlines—literally. Take a look:

You now have more reasons to go to Binondo following the launch of Red Studio’s newspaper-themed photobooth. The photos look exactly like they were pressed straight into a local newspaper—featuring your, quite frankly, headline-worthy aura in classic black and white. The booth’s bold red palette alone is hard to miss.

Depending on their pop-ups, the newspaper photo prints cost PHP150, with up to 2 retakes if you weren’t able to serve main character energy on your first try.
There’s also a QR code that lets you download JPG and GIF formats of your headline prints. In terms of size, there are no official measurements posted, but the photos are large enough to hang as home displays.

Red Studio’s photobooth is currently located at Binondo’s famous Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz. Even better, it operates 24/7! The booth is open until June 30, 2026, with a possibility of extension. For inquiries and the latest announcements, follow Red Studio on TikTok and Instagram.

There’s a reason why newspaper-themed photobooths are popular here and in other countries, such as China. Maybe it’s the nostalgia factor. Or, perhaps, booths—and, by extension, photo studios—are a reminder that some of the best moments aren’t meant to live exclusively behind a glass screen.
Unlike curated social media feeds where every angle is edited and filtered, booths capture raw, unpolished joy. In fact, the countdown forces you to let go of perfectionism. So, the next time you see a nearby booth, take it as a sign from the universe to romanticize your life a bit and pose!
