BlackPink’s Coachella Solo Stages May Have Drawn Inspo From Their PH Concert, According to Fans

Apr 24, 2023   •   Meryl Medel

Filipino Blinks, rise! Your simple yet special fan project seems to have made its way to Coachella with the world’s biggest girl group.

BlackPink has stunned the Coachella crowd with their powerful performances. But Filipino Blinks (a.k.a. BlackPink’s fans) couldn’t help but notice a small yet notable change from their previous stages: the girls’ names had new colors, and it seems to be based on a fan project during their Manila stop.

Filipino Blinks’ light ocean fan project

For the Manila stop of the Born Pink World Tour, local fanbases planned a simple yet massive fan project to show a colored lightstick ocean specific to a particular member: red for Jisoo, blue for Jennie, white for Rose, and yellow for Lisa.

The fan project was particularly successful on the second day of the Manila stop.

Over the tour, the colors of the members’ names have changed. In the first stop Seoul, the colors were more ambiguous, such as Jennie’s purplish blue and Jisoo’s silver gold.

Meanwhile, in more recent stops like Taiwan, Indonesia, and Philippines, the members used different colors as well: white for Lisa and yellow for Rose, while Jennie and Jisoo maintained the shades of blue and silver respectively.

At the girl group’s solo stages at Coachella, fans observed a more distinct change with the colors of their names. According to Filipino Blinks, those colors match the ones from the fan project in the Manila stop.

Jisoo’s name in bright red

Rose’s name in clean white

Lisa’s name in golden yellow

Filipino Blinks are proud

Filipino fans couldn’t help but express happiness and excitement upon seeing the colors they associated with each member being used at the Coachella performances. A few Blinks are even requesting an encore in the Philippines. Please make it happen, universe!
