The K-drama fever is far from over and now that another media platform is available in the Philippines, there are more titles to look forward to and get into. If you don’t have plans for the holidays and plan on staying in to catch up on shows, here are some K-dramas you can binge-watch on Disney Plus:
This series may be more appropriate for Halloween because it features violence and gore, but you just can’t let it pass especially when the protagonists are Jung Hae In and Go Kyung Pyo. Adapted from a webtoon series of the same name, Connect is about a man who seems to be immortal. No matter how many times you get him killed, his body just heals itself and he is okay again. After he falls victim to organ hunters, he discovers that a part of his body has been transplanted to a murderer.
Lee Jong Suk is back in K-drama land after his two-year hiatus due to his military service. In his long-awaited comeback, he pairs with Girls Generation member Im Yoon Ah.
Park Chang Ho is a lawyer with low success rates. Due to this, he gets hired by the Mayor to work on a mission. However, he is framed as a swindler and is sent to prison. It’s now up to his wife, Go Mi Ho (Im Yoon Ah) to prove his innocence and finish the job he has started under the Mayor.
Get ready for some action when you watch the ongoing drama The First Responders. Starring Kim Rae Won, Kang Gi Doong, and Son Ho Jun, this action-filled drama features the lives of first responders: policemen, firefighters, and paramedics, and how they serve their city.
If you’re a fan of rom-com dramas, you’ll fall in love with the charm and chemistry between Kim Jae Wook and Krystal Jung in Crazy Love. It follows the usual CEO-secretary trope but on another level.
CEO Noh Go Jin pretends to have amnesia after receiving death threats. His secretary Lee Shin-Ah, discovers she doesn’t have many days to live and agrees to be the CEO’s fiance after learning her boss has amnesia.
What will you give up to uncover the cause of your twin brother’s untimely death? In Revenge of Others, Ok Chan Mi (played by Shin Ye Eun) partners with Ji Soo Heon (played by Park Solomon) to uncover the truth behind the passing of her brother. Despite being high school students, both seek revenge for bullied students’ tormentors.
No Chak Hee (played by Jung Ryeo Won) is an ace lawyer at one of the country’s biggest law firms. However, one of her cases get her suspended for a year and she ends up working as a public defender after. There she meets lawyer Jwa Si Baek (played by Lee Kyu Hyung) who graduated top of his class during law school. They are the biggest rivals at work, but are forced to work together to solve a murder case. Will they be successful?
Up for some fantasy? Adapted from a webtoon series of the same name, The Golden Spoon is a drama that features the lengths one will take to escape poverty. Lee Sung Chun (played by BTOB’s Yook Sung Jae) is given the chance to leave a miserable life full of struggle. Through a golden spoon, he’s able to switch lives with his best friend who was born into riches. But there’s a catch: he’s only given three chances to make life-altering decisions.
Soundtrack #1’s protagonists alone will make you swoon: Han So Hee who plays Lee Eunso and Park Hyung Sik who plays Han Sun Woo. In this drama, the pair have been friends for two decades and now work in the music industry. They move in together to work on new music but discover something deeper: that there could be something more than their friendship.
