Jirisan, Demon Slayer, and More Asian Picks: Here’s What You Can Stream on iQiyi This October

Jirisan

Starring Jun Ji-hyun, Ju Ji-hoon

The plot: Many trekkers frequently visit Jirisan National Park, and rangers continuously work to save people who are lost and stuck in the mountain. Seo Yi-gang is the best ranger familiar with virtually everything about the area, while Kang Hyun-jo is a rookie ranger who was once an army captain, harboring a secret that he can’t tell anyone about. These two people become partners working to save people from the dangers of Jirisan National Park and all the mysterious happenings within.

 

The Hypnosis

Starring Lee David, Johyun, Kim Do-hoon

The plot: Now a college student, Do Hyun has lost touch with his childhood friends and is simply living his own life. One day, Do Hyun is introduced to Jin Ho, who lost his parents in an accident as a child. After his childhood friends hear Jin Ho’s story, they all come together to be Jin Ho’s new friends. But things get complicated when they become interested in the hypnosis that Jin Ho receives to treat his trauma. Since that day, Do Hyun and his friends keep experiencing strange things and they all suddenly recollect memories of Seung Min, one of their childhood friends who has already passed away. Who hypnotized them and why did the memories of Seung Min come back?

 

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (Entertainment District Arc)

The plot: Based on the work of the same name by Japanese manga artist Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has garnered high praise and many fans from all over the world. Even its film sequel Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train became the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. This new arc tells the tale of Tengen Uzui, Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, leading protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and his friends in a crusade against the Twelve Kizuki’s Gyutaro and Daki.

 

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (Part 2)

The plot: After a jobless and hopeless man abruptly meets his death, he is reincarnated in a fantasy world — with all memories of his past life intact. He resolves to find success in his new life.

Starring William Feng, Vicky Chen

The plot: Many college students suddenly find an app called Wisher in their phones. According to the app, they can achieve their dreams by accomplishing certain missions. Many students are seduced by Wisher, risking anything to accomplish their missions, but unbeknownst to them, greater danger awaits.

 

Rainless Love in a Godless Land

Starring Chiao Chiao Tseng, Paul Fu

The plot: Based on Amis myths, this Chinese drama follows the story of the supernatural entity Kawas, who has decided not to bless the Earth after humans destroyed the land, leaving the world after the last rain. At the countdown to the apocalypse, the God of Rain ‘Orad falls in love with a human.

The plot: Because of her strong interest in building fortifications, Princess Chen Langyue of Showa sneaked out of the palace, despite the protests around her, to join the Muyu Craftsman Team founded by Li Qingfeng and Fa Xiaoluo.

 

Be My Princess

Starring Jeremy Jones Xu, Zhou Jie Qiong

The plot: Ming Wei is a part-time translator who loves acting, and she finally gets her big break unexpectedly when she is accidentally chosen as the leading lady in top star Mu Yanzhou‘s new play. Things get complicated when Yanzhou loses his memory from an accident, forcing Ming Wei to follow the doctor’s proposal to help Yanzhou until he recovers.
