Our childhood wasn’t complete if we weren’t glued to our seats anticipating the next episode of the Kdrama we’re watching. Kdrama’s have been a staple at almost every Filipino’s homes, and here are 8 school-themed Kdrama’s worth re- watching.
When Boys over Flowers first aired back in 2009 it reignited the Kdrama craze—you must admit that you spent your afternoons glued to the screen waiting for the dubbed version to air. It tells the story of Geum Jan-di as she gets a scholarship at a prestigious school, she later clashes Gu-Jun-pyo the leader of the schools most popular group F4.
Another Kdrama classic, The Heirs is about a group of rich high school students. Cha Eun-Sang’s sister unexpectedly informs them that she’s getting married, but she discovers that her sister was lying. There she meets Kim Tan and their story starts to unfold.
This Korean revamp of the famous Japanese drama Hana Kimi won the hearts of many as it starred K-Pop idol Sulli (formerly from F(X) ) and Minho (from SHINee). The story starts when Koo Jae-Hee, a Korean student in America, decides to go back to Korea because of her idol Tae-Joon, a star athlete from an all-boys school. She then decides to pretend as a boy to get close to Tae-Joon.
Dream High is a story of musically gifted students from Kirin High School of Art. The story follows Song Sam-Dong, a young boy who lives in the countryside, as he falls in love with Ko Hye-mi and follows her to Kirin High School.
This Kdrama is packed full of mysteries! Twins Go Eun-byul and Lee Eun-bi are separated at age 5 and have since been living different lives. One day on a school field trip, Eun-byul disappears while her twin Eun-bi attempts to take her life. Eun-bi then gets mistaken for her twin and her world turns upside down.
When city boy Lee Shi Kyung transfers to a countryside school, he finds himself in unfamiliar territory. Eventually, he discovers the beauty in the simple things in life.
The drama stole the hearts of viewers as mischievous student Oh Ha-Ni falls in love with arrogant smart boy Baek Seung-Jo. The story is about Oh Ha-Ni falling in love with a boy from a class above hers.
Heart Strings tells the story of Lee Shin, a college student majoring in music and is the lead vocalist of the band “the stupid”. Lee Shin is known for his good looks and dedication to music but he also has a cold attitude. That, however, changes, when he meets Lee Kyu, Won a girl with a bright personality born into a rich family.
