A few years after Imortal, ABS-CBN introduces another fantasy series about vampires and werewolves in “La Luna Sangre,” which will be premiered on June 19.  It’s the third installment to the fantaserye franchise, after Lobo (2008) and Imortal (2010).  While it kind of reminds us of Twilight, this new show holds a lot of promise with its rich plot, big production and of course, its star-studded cast topbilled by the ultimate love team, KathNiel.

Joross Gamboa

Joross Gamboa stars as Varisto, a wolf from the tribe who raised Malia after the death of Lia and Mateo.

Ina Raymundo

After a break from teleseryes, Ina Raymundo returns in La Luna Sangre as Verushka, wife of the tribe’s punong-bantay . Like Varisto, she is also a wolf.

Tony Labrusca

Pinoy Boyband’s Tony Labrusca is sure to win the hearts of many with this role as Jake, son of the tribe leaders. What’s more interesting is that he’s said to admire Malia. We smell a new love triangle!

Angel Locsin

Angel Locsin reprises her role as Lia, the powerful wolf who has now quietly lived as a mortal for the past years. She is married to Mateo, the vampire from Imortal, and together they have one daughter, Malia.

John Lloyd Cruz

John Lloyd Cruz plays the vampire husband of Lia, and father of Malia. For years, he tried to protect his family from their complicated world, but when Malia is threatened to be killed by Sandrino, he made the hard choice to entrust his daughter to his tribe—a group of vampires and werewolves.

Kathryn Bernardo

Kathryn Bernardo plays Malia, the only daughter of Lia and Mateo and is referred to as the ”bagong itinakda” (chosen one). As a daughter of a vampire and a wolf, she is believed to defeat Sandrino, the king of vampires. Her powers are yet to be unleashed, though, so she undergoes training with a certain pack of werewolves and vampires.

Daniel Padilla

Tristan, played by Daniel Padilla, lost his father to a vampire attack at a young age. He moved to Manila and later worked as a jeepney driver. He then meets Malia, whom he has already met when they were younger. Their complicated relationship is, of course,  one of the highlights of the show.

Richard Gutierrez

For his first-ever role in ABS-CBN, Richard Gutierrez plays the antagonist, Sandrino, the king of vampires who is the long lost son of Magnus, who died in  Imortal. To avenge his father’s death, he intends to find Malia, who he believes is out to end him.
