Manny Pacquiao on Knowing Bros is Weird AF but It’s Hilarious

For fans of anything Hallyu, catching your fave K-pop groups and K-drama actors on variety show Knowing Bros is one way of getting to know them more. With very engaging hosts and fun games to play, participating in the show unleashes their quirks and charms! While we normally see K-celebs here, it’s actually odd to see a Filipino-athlete-turned-politician to be there. Yes, you’re reading it right. Manny Pacquiao filmed an episode for Knowing Bros and from the previews alone, we already know that it’s going to be hilarious:

Unless you live under a rock, you probably already know that Sandara Park was a full-blown celebrity in the Philippines before becoming a legendary K-pop artist with her group, 2NE1. “Ang pambansang kamao ng Pilipinas & pambansang krungkung ng Pilipinas!!!” Dara wrote in her caption on an Instagram post on October 14. Manny is dressed like a high school student complete with a name tag in Korean while Dara looks like a teacher.

Of course, the show wouldn’t be fun without Manny showing the ropes of boxing to the hosts. But instead of the typical boxing (we don’t want to see bloodied lips and bruised skin), the time inside the ring is replaced with fun toys.

Why is he actually there?

Just like your fave K-celebs, Manny guested at the popular variety show to promote his upcoming exhibition fight with Korean martial artist and YouTuber, DK Yoo. The fight is set to happen on December 11 in Seoul. It’s purely for charity, with the money raised going to homeless individuals in the Philippines and in Ukraine.

Return to the ring

Could this be Manny’s comeback to the ring? No, the boxing legend is still retired from the sport and this game is purely for charity. But even though it’s just an exhibition fight, Manny shared in an interview that he still plans to do well. “This is my comeback to the ring, this is my passion, so I have to work hard even though it’s an exhibition match. I’ll try to finish the fight early so we can go home early,” the passion is clearly still burning for the champ.
