Superhero fatigue is real, but Disney+’s newest K-drama is set to give the genre a seismic shift. Moving (the biggest Disney+ STAR original series to date) is a highly anticipated K-drama with even higher ambitions. Here’s why you should check it out.
Based on the 200-million-viewed webtoon by acclaimed author Kangfull, Moving follows the lives of ordinary students who possess extraordinary abilities. Kim Bongseok (Lee Jungha) can fly, Jang Huisoo (Go Younjung) has rapid healing powers, and Lee Ganghoon (Kim Dohoon) possesses super strength. Despite their remarkable gifts, they choose to keep their powers a secret while navigating the challenges of living as regular students.
However, their peaceful existence is soon disrupted when government agencies seek to exploit their powers or eliminate them altogether, aiming to eradicate the presence of superhumans from society. As their lives are threatened, they must rally together to protect their loved ones and confront those who wish to harm them. Along the way, they uncover hidden truths about themselves and the people they hold dear.
Directed by Park Inje, Moving features an ensemble cast of K-drama stars including Ryu Seungryong as Jang Juwon, Han Hyojoo as Lee Mihyun, and Zo Insung making his long-awaited return to the small screen as Kim Doosik. Their performances breathe life into the characters, adding depth and authenticity to the series.
With just seven episodes in its debut season, Moving delivers a story full of non-stop action, intense drama, and a touch of mystery. Expect each episode to leave you at the edge of your seat — you won’t be able to stop watching.
Combining elements of action and drama, Moving goes deep into the lives of its characters, exploring their struggles, emotions, and relationships in a characteristically K-drama way. By melding the extraordinary superhero story with the heartfelt storytelling of Korean dramas, Moving revitalizes the superhero genre, offering a thrilling and engaging viewing experience that will leave audiences wanting more.
Moving is now streaming on Disney+.
