If you’re a staunch side-sleeper, you might have some trouble falling asleep after your surgery. You see, to quell excessive blood flow from the tooth sockets, you’ll have to sleep upright with your head elevated. It’s not like you have several options of sleeping positions, anyway. With your face sore and swollen, there’s no way you can sleep with it pressed against a pillow – no matter how soft your pillow is.
Getting your toothbrush inside your mouth is one thing. Brushing your good teeth while avoiding the wound and stitches is the real deal, and you just have to do it.
The answer is yes. But when you’ve just had your wisdom teeth removed, the answer feels more like a no. After your surgery, your jaw will start to feel stiff and no amount of massaging will seem to help. Moreover, the swelling will make you look like a chipmunk with a stuffed face, and there’s this constant threat of people trying to give your cheeks a playful pinch.
Excuse you.
