Every time Taylor Swift blesses us with new stuff, a shift occurs somewhere in this crazy cosmos. People are either reborn with a wholly new persona or left emotionally wrecked in the wake of her powerful artistry. With a career spanning more than a decade and countless hits under her name, Taylor’s new song “Foolish One” emerges as a new favorite of those who may have been let down by love.
Whether you’re a new Swiftie or a long-time one, you probably know that Taylor is on a re-recording journey of some of her old albums like “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” which dropped last Friday.
Aside from hearing the newfound maturity of the “Taylor’s Version” albums, fans can occasionally sob to “from the vault” tracks, which are songs cut from the original tracklists. And we have a new addition to the playlist of when you need a little reality check. Case in point: “Foolish One.”
The song talks about unrequited love and how someone drowns in a sea of little fantasies with the one they love up to the point they look foolish. Even by just reading the song’s lyrics, it’s not hard to feel a wave of emotions — something Taylor does like magic!
It’s not a TS album release without people crying (literally and figuratively) or feeling nostalgic over her songs. “Foolish One” found its way into the hearts of netizens. It seems many people have been in this situation, where falling in love led them to heartbreaks. Here’s what some netizens had to say:
Foolish One is for the hopeless romantics, the ones who don’t like that falling feels like flying ‘til the bone crush, the ones who wait by the door like they’re just a kid, the ones who are still are believer but don’t know why, the ones who will never learn their lesson. 🥲

Imagine getting called out like this.
foolish one is really for the teardrops on my guitar, you belong with me, enchanted, message in a bottle, I wish you would, delicate, paper rings, august, gold rush girlies who only wanted you to see them

Although it hasn’t been a hot minute since “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) dropped, some Swifties are now looking forward to the re-release of pop banger “1989,” which featured some of Taylor’s biggest hits like “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off,” and “Blank Space.” Rumor has it that the 33-year-old pop megastar has been dropping little hints about that album.
