Games are a certified cure for boredom blues. From mind-boggling puzzles and interactive sports to fantasy and adventure, there are countless games that’ll leave you entertained. However, there’s a new virtual game that elevates the player experience to a whole new level. It’s called The Rescue, and here’s how you can be a part of it.
The Rescue is a virtual game by Seven A.D in collaboration with BreakOut Philippines. It aims to give people a virtual experience of escaping a sex trafficker’s den from the victim’s point of view. People can also send donations at the end of the game.
“Knowing about human trafficking is one thing, but to experience this kind of fear, abuse and helplessness is another level altogether,” says Russell Molina, Seven A.D. Chief Digital Officer.
Seven A.D wants to utilize the gaming industry to raise awareness about human trafficking, violence, and abuse. The Rescue has 20 compelling chapters that will not only induce excitement but also touch the emotions of players.
A minimum of six players are required to play the game. Here’s how the game works:
The COVID-19 pandemic saw a rise in human trafficking cases in the country. Sexual predators now have easier access to online platforms that minors also have access to. Sadly, seemingly harmless platforms like social media and gaming sites became a hotspot for horrendous acts of human trafficking.
“Through our partnership with Seven A.D. and Called to Rescue, we hope to help create awareness and affect change in our own little way,” shared BreakOut Philippines’ General Manager.
The series of virtual simulations started with The Call, an interactive role-playing experience on Instagram Stories that lets users play the role of an agent to give them a glimpse of how Called To Rescue rescues victims after receiving a tip.
Called to Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping and rescuing victims of human trafficking. The best part? The proceeds from The Rescue will go to the NGO to continue its mission. People can also send donations to them via cash or check. Click here to know more.
