Each year, millions of cats and dogs are euthanized because there aren’t enough homes for them. During the last years, probably months, of their lives they are left in a shelter alone, confused, sad, and lonely. Local organizations like the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and CARA Philippines are encouraging Filipinos to #AdoptDontShop. Adopting a pet will help you save an animal’s life and give it a second chance at a home and a family.
Interested in adopting yours? Log on to PAWS Website and CARA Philippines’ Facebook page, you might meet the next love of your life. If you aren’t capable of adopting, these organizations also welcome volunteers to help with the animals!
Panda Ongpauco-Escudero is probably the luckiest dog alive right now, living her best life fancier than our best days as humans. Heart Evangelista adopted her aspin way back in 2015 and has since shown the world how she enjoys pampering her dog with sweaters, comfortable carriers, and lavishing all her attention and love toward Panda. Panda goes with Heart everywhere including events and out of town trips. She even has an Instagram page that you should most definitely follow.
Joey and Angelina’s fur family is ever-growing. From the addition of a dog named Happy from Sorsogon whom they got from Heart Evangelista to Shasha whom Joey writes was found tied to a tree and abandoned before being rescued. In an Instagram post, Joey also shared that she has over 7 rescued and adopted cats! Every addition to the couple’s huge fur family on Instagram will melt your heart and will make you wish there were more people like them in the world.
Jonalyn Viray has a big voice and a soft heart for animals without homes. Her first rescue was in 2009 when an abandoned kitten wouldn’t leave their front house. Since then, she has adopted and rescued other dogs and cats, the most remarkable of which is Capones.
While Jonalyn was in Capones Island, Zambales, she saw a dog drowning in the middle of the sea and later found out that the owner of the dog was trying to poison and drown it. Jonalyn swam to get the dog and emerged from the sea with a convulsing dog in her arms. Unfortunately, the dog didn’t make it but that’s how we see Jonalyn’s dedication in rescuing animals that need food and shelter and love the most.

MACA was named Tilly before she met the legendary Zac Efron and her life turned upside down. She was about to be euthanized at a Los Angeles pet shop when Efron came in, saw her, and fell in love and took her home. Efron took a photo with MACA afterward with a hashtag #adoptdontshop, encouraging his 40.4 million followers to give dogs like MACA a home.

As if we don’t have enough reasons to love Chris Evans, he goes ahead and shows us he’s such a softie for dogs too. He tells PEOPLE.com that while he was shooting for his 2017 film, Gifted, he was walking down the aisle of a pound and saw Dodger. He thought the cute dog didn’t belong there so he “snagged him” and the rest is history well documented in Evans’ Twitter profile. Dodger is one lucky dog!
Earlier this year, Kristen bell posted a photo of her snuggling with a blind fur baby. She sweetly captioned the photo with “Eyes are overrated, cuz you dont need em to snuggle,” and with the hashtags #adoptseniordogs and #adoptdontshop. Kirsten, who also has another adopted dog named Lola, tells purewow.com that getting a dog should be “less about the purchase and more about connecting with someone who also needs some companionship.”
Liam’s love for his rescue dogs shows in their frequent appearance on his Instagram. Whether he’s out taking them for a walk, chilling with them on the front porch, or taking wacky photos, these dogs get a lot of love from Hemsworth (Dora is even included in his profile picture!). Aside from these two, ex-couple Liam and Miley Cyrus have adopted many other pets over the course of their relationship.

The last 10 years were the only years of my life. Happy birthday, my guy.

Since Amanda Seyfried adopted her Australian Shepherd pup Finn, they have done everything together including cuddling, walking and running around, and going on hikes. Amanda and Finn have also teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society organization to raise money and awareness for more than 9,000 cats and dogs killed in America every day.
See how happy those dogs and cats are in their new lives? Adopt a pet too and be their hero!
