This show had us all singing “California, here we cooooome” since it first aired 13 years ago. Talk about a childhood favorite!
Set in the glamourous world of California, naturally the story revolves around the tragicomedy of life under the Orange County sun. Aside from the show’s aura, The O.C. got us all unhealthily obsessed with the power couple, Seth and Summer (who can resist the dorky and loyal Seth Cohen?) that has easily become the heart of the show. I mean, how many times did you replay their Spiderman kiss? *cue Champagne Supernova background music*
While it lasted for only four seasons, The O.C. is definitely one of the most memorable pop culture references of the ‘00s era.
Aired: 2007-2012 (The CW)

From the very popular “xoxo” line, the fashion moments of the iconic Selena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, to the compelling, roller-coaster romance of Blair and Chuck (Three words, eight letters!), Gossip Girl was almost every teenage girl’s life peg in the ‘00s. Set in the Upper East Side of America’s fashion capital, the show chronicled the lives of New York’s most elite and how they lived their high-class lives under the radar of an anonymous gossip blogger.
Gossip Girl’s plot was full of wit and charm, no wonder traces of the show are used as pop culture references up to this day. The show was a massive hit, with former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg even announcing January 26 as Gossip Girl Day in 2012. Indeed, Gossip Girl not only made us fall in love with its amazing characters, but with New York City as well. You know you love me, xoxo.

As the iconic line goes, “There’s only One Tree Hill, and it’s your home.”
There’s always that strong nostalgic feeling when we remember One Tree Hill, mainly because the characters have made such a huge impact on us that they have become pillars of our adolescence. For nine seasons, we’ve watched how the Tree Hill gang transition from being immature high school kids to becoming grown-up, married adults as the season progressed. No wonder we’re so attached to them. In fact, just hearing Gavin DeGraw’s I Don’t Want To Be is enough to bring back all the feels.
Aired: 2005-ongoing (ABC)
No. of seasons: 13-ongoing
You’re never really a series addict in the ‘00s until you’ve followed Grey’s Anatomy. Once you’ve started it, you just can’t stop. I mean, who would not love the original dynamic bunch of M.A.G.I.C. (Boy, do we miss them!) and the smoldering gaze of the phenomenal Dr. McDreamy (plus McSteamy)? This show made us feel the whole gamut of emotions with its stories of love, friendship, family, career and everything else in between, all set in the halls of Seattle Grace Hospital. It even made us want to punch Shonda Rhimes (the show’s creator) in the face with all the beloved characters she (spoiler alert!) killed over the years.
The show’s still on air after one decade, but for us who’ve faithfully watched it from the beginning, it will never be the same again.
