We Got Access to the CLVB – Here’s Everything That Happened

Mar 14, 2025   •   Ina Louise Manto

You might’ve seen the mysterious invites and teasers creating a buzz on social media lately. Is it a secret society? A hub for the cool kids? “Welcome to the CLVB,” the invitation said, without further details. We got curious and decided to see what it was all about. Here’s what went down.

Going underground

One Wednesday evening, we found ourselves in the lively streets of Makati, right around the Little Tokyo area. Visiting this street lined with Japanese restaurants for a party on a weekday may be unusual, but our curiosity was piqued, and we couldn’t resist.

The mysterious invitation led us to Makati Cinema Square’s basement parking, where an underground bar, Nokal Manila, can be found.

We descended the stairs, lit up by pink neon lights, each step slowly heightening our curiosity about what awaited us.

Grub before the festivities

Who parties on an empty stomach? Not us! Aside from drinks, Nokal also offers grub, which we got to sample before the event. We had steak, pasta, and sliders. That’s more than enough fuel for a night of dancing!

Cheers to the CLVB

Here was the moment we were all waiting for – what was the buzz all about? An exciting product launch! The brand announced a new era of smoothness with CLVB EMPI, a light and delicious drink. No more wincing from the burning sensation of other liquors; this drink makes every sip effortlessly enjoyable.

Our first impression? The brandy is indeed smooth, and you won’t taste the alcohol at all – it’s very easy to drink. It even has a hint of sweetness, inviting you to take more shots.

Drink it in two ways

What we like about CLVB EMPI is its versatility. It suits every drinking situation. If you’re in a setting like Nokal where you’re guaranteed to lose your voice singing at the top of your lungs and dance the night away, drinking it neat is the way to go. Trays and trays of CLVB EMPI shots were being passed around the dance floor, leaving us with just one job: to have fun. With CLVB EMPI’s smoothness, we didn’t need chasers anymore.

When you’re in the mood for a chill drinking sesh or a nightcap, drink it on the rocks. This was us in the latter part of the night, when we were chilling on the couch, simply taking in the vibes.

With this drink, you’re up for a fun night. With a 22.5% ABV (45 proof), CLVB EMPI is crafted for smooth, easy enjoyment. But as with any good time, pace yourself and always drink responsibly.

TikTok stars spotted

The room was full of Gen Zs going all out with their partying, posing with their drinks and newly-found friends. But the energy kicked up a notch when a mysterious group entered the room and sat in the corner. It turned out to be Malupiton, a viral content creator on TikTok and YouTube, known for his iconic line, “Bosing! Kamusta ang buhay buhay?”

Apparently, Joel Ravanera, his real name, once worked in a nightclub, making him a perfect guest for an event like this.

A night for dancing

Even though it was a Wednesday night, it felt like a Friday, thanks to the DJ’s electrifying beats. Forgetting the stress of the past work day, we let ourselves to loosen it up a bit and hit the dance floor.

The night’s playlist was a mix of old and new, from Flo Rida’s “Low” to a couple of Justin Bieber hits, to Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning “Not Like Us.” (One of the night’s highlights was the crowd singing the iconic line: “Tryna strike a chord, but it’s probably A minor!”)

One for the books

We didn’t just leave buzzing from the CLVB experience, but also brought home keepsakes of the incredible night we had, thanks to the party’s official photographer. Plus, we also got to take home drinks to share with our friends and colleagues.

As the famous TikTok saying goes: “In the club, we all fam.” And that’s what the night delivered when we said yes to the CLVB.

What about you? Are you joining the CLVB?

Drink responsibly.
