Tinseltown and sex scandals are the stuff that neo-noir thrillers are made of, but for the victims, they’re not a mystery to be solved, but a culture they have to put up with. Hollywood has maintained a wall of silence with various figures of influence conspiring to maintain it. But look closely, but you’ll see that most of the creepy, pervy behavior in Hollywood is an open secret. Here are eight of the worst sex creeps that continue to operate in show business.

8. Steven Seagal

Steven Seagal may have found gold in the Philippines, but he’s always looking for “honeys” when it comes doing his work as a filmmaker and spirit guru. In the early 90s, he asked Jenny McCarthy to undress during an audition for Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. Seagal was alleged to keep a harem of sex slaves to attend to his sexual desires 24/7 and used Craigslist to hunt for “a woman who isn’t bothered by the fact that I put “executive assistant” in quotes.”

7. James Woods

This prominent character actor is famous not just for his villainous demeanor on screen, but his frequent use of Twitter. But when he used his account to criticize the seven year age gap between the two love interests in Call Me By Your Name, star Armie Hammer pointedly asked, “Didn’t you date a 19 year old when you were 60?” Woods’ creepy history got even creepier when actress Amber Tamblyn alleged that Woods tried to pick her up when she was 16.

6. Woody Allen

This actor-director’s complicated and troubled history with women is no laughing matter. His first wife, Harlene Rosen maintains it was an unsettling marriage, one that saw her violated outside of her apartment. His second partner, Mia Farrow discovered nude photos of their adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, who he later married. Even worse, Mia’s daughter, Dylan Farrow said that Allen sexually assaulted her as a child as she played with her brother’s train set.

5. Charlie Chaplin

This comedy genius was incorrigible in his advances towards young women. But it’s his relationship with his second wife, Lita Grey, that sticks out the most. Chaplin first seduced Grey when she was 15 and he was 35. After she became pregnant with his child, he married her under threat of being reported to the police. Throughout the marriage, he would make “revolting, degrading and offensive” sexual demands.

4. Bill Cosby

As the genial patriarch on The Cosby Show, he projected an image of warmth and wisdom. But secretly, Bill Cosby committed multiple instances of sexual assault for decades and only came to light in 2014. It all came to a head in a cover story for New York Magazine in which 35 women from all walks of life came forward as victims of Cosby. Earlier this year, Cosby celebrated a hung jury by yelling, “Hey hey hey,” his catchphrase from the Fat Albert cartoon.

3. Harvey Weinstein

As the powerful head of Miramax, the lecherous attention Weinstein gave to rising young actresses was an open secret, as well as his willingness to tank the careers of those who rejected his advances. Last week, The New York Times broke a big story on his pattern of abuse. Actresses he’s harassed include Cara Delevingne, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller and Lea Seydoux.

2. The Affleck Brothers

Earlier this week, Ben Affleck expressed his support for women by denouncing Harvey Weinstein. A video quickly surfaced in which he groped Hilarie Burton on TRL in 2003. After a quick apology for the 14-year-old incident, he retreated into hiding. Meanwhile, in 2008 Affleck’s brother Casey led the crew in various sexual harassments against the cinematographer and the producer of a documentary he was working on.

1. Roman Polanski

The Academy Award-winning director of The Pianist is probably the most celebrated sex offender of all time, with more awards and sexual assault cases on his CV than any director. He was indicted in the assault of 13-year old Samantha Gailey during a Vogue photo shoot. Before he could be sentenced, he left for France and has lived there since then. Attempts to extradite him have failed and many celebrities from Europe and Hollywood continue to defend him.
