Tablets have come a long way from being luxury gadgets to becoming essential tools for work and play. Today, the market is flooded with options promising to do it all. That’s where the Xiaomi Pad 7 steps in, positioned as a more affordable contender in this increasingly crowded space. But what truly sets it apart? Is it another budget-friendly option with compromises, or does it manage to deliver the right mix of performance, design, and value?
We tested out the Xiaomi Pad 7 to find out.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 boasts an 11.2-inch 3.2K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR support, Dolby Vision, and 800 nits of brightness.
Translation? It’s a treat for your eyes. Whether you’re scrolling through emails, streaming an HDR movie, or playing a game, the vibrant colors and sharp details pull you in. While the 3:2 aspect ratio might not be the best fit for widescreen binge sessions, it shines in productivity tasks like reading documents and editing spreadsheets.
Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos ensure that the Xiaomi Pad 7 delivers an audio experience as impressive as its display. Whether it’s cinematic soundtracks or Zoom calls, the speakers handle it all with clarity and depth.
We tested it during a movie night and were blown away by the crisp highs and deep bass. It won’t replace your at-home sound system, but it’s perfect for on-the-go audio (or when you’re too lazy to pair to a speaker).
With the Snapdragon® 7+ Gen 3 chip, the Xiaomi Pad 7 doesn’t play around. Multitasking is seamless, apps load in a flash, and even more demanding games like Genshin Impact run smoothly. During our gaming session, the tablet stayed cool, thanks to its efficient cooling system.
The performance boost provided by UFS 4.0 storage on the higher-end variants ensures faster processing speeds. This makes it perfect for creative professionals working with high-res files or photo edits.
A massive 8850mAh battery with 45W turbocharging keeps the Xiaomi Pad 7 running for hours. We used it intensively—streaming, editing, and emailing—and it comfortably lasted more than a full day.
Expect to watch three full-length movies back-to-back without breaking a sweat. For travelers, this battery life is a massive win.
Xiaomi’s HyperOS introduces a Workstation Mode, turning the Pad 7 into a lightweight laptop alternative. The ability to open multiple windows, keep apps running in the background, and resize them for multitasking is handy for productivity.
However, we found the interface not quite polished yet. Resizing windows leaves wasted screen space, and the taskbar is limited in functionality. Improvements here could make this mode a game-changer for professionals.
We tried the Xiaomi Focus Pen and the Focus Keyboard, and they’re fantastic companions for the Pad 7. The pen had minimal latency and offered precision during writing and sketching. It’s great for presentations too, thanks to its additional buttons. The keyboard, with its backlit keys and decent trackpad, also made typing a breeze, although you do fiddle around with the settings a bit, as the default keyboard layout isn’t standard.
The Xiaomi HyperAI takes productivity to another level. Features like AI Writing simplify content creation, and the AI Art tool turns your most basic doodles into something that’s actually presentable—perfect for marketers, designers, or just anyone feeling creative.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 delivers far more than its price tag suggests. Priced at PHP 16,999 for the base model, it can compete directly with higher-priced tablets—and often wins. It’s hard to justify spending extra when this device offers a premium display, powerful performance, and excellent accessories at a fraction of the cost.
For those looking to retire their heavy laptops or simply indulge in an all-in-one entertainment device, the Xiaomi Pad 7 is an easy recommendation.
