Happy humpday! The week may not have holidays like the previous weeks, but you’re now just a few days closer to the weekend. To give you a break from the endless doomscrolling, here are some good news to cheer you up:
On April 12, 2021, People of the Year held a virtual awarding night for its roster of extraordinary people in extraordinary times. Among the awardees are three government officials: VP Leni Robredo bagged the Special Award for Public Service for her office’s COVID-19 response as well as her anti-poverty program Angat Buhay; Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto was voted by PeopleAsia’s readers as People’s Choice Awardee; and DTI Sec. Ramon Lopez was also given the Special Award for Public Service for his efforts to reopen the economy in 2020. “People of the Year” is an annual event held by PeopleAsia magazine.
Just when you think Pepero is good enough already, wait until you see its ice-cream version. The popular chocolate Korean snack is now available in popsicle versions and it’s only P40 each! You can get it via GrabFood or various Korean groceries.
Yup, you heard it right. Pinoys now have access to free groceries. This is a project by a Christian religious organization, Members of the Church of God International (MCGI), for indigents living in remote places, who have no access to the internet. There are multiple branches not only across the country but also international locations like Africa, Brazil, and Latin America. Beneficiaries can also “purchase” goods online, through the points they’re awarded from MCGI.

Six years into their hiatus, it seems that One Direction still has millions of fans worldwide. Since seeing the boys live won’t happen any time soon, Directioners headed to streaming site Mixlr instead to broadcast 1D songs live. The broadcast had over 3.8 million listeners worldwide!
The long wait is over: Carats can now catch Going Seventeen again, after nearly three months of hiatus. The variety show by the popular South-Korean group aired in 2017 and has been consistently updating on Mondays since. Tonight, GoSe returns with a new season tonight and a new upload schedule. Catch them on Wednesdays from now on!
In case you’ve been dreaming of seeing a PH remake of the nakakagigil K-Drama The World of the Married, it’s going to come true soon. It was recently announced that there would be a local remake of BBC’s Doctor Foster, which is the show the K-Drama is based on. The PH adaptation will be the sixth international remake of the successful BBC show. Who are your bets for the lead roles?
