Unfading Sense: Yesung Charmed PH ELFs in His Solo Concert in Manila

Jan 10, 2024   •   Meryl Medel

Last Saturday, the K-pop concert scene welcomed the new year sweetly with the help of Super Junior’s Yesung. Presented by PULP Live World, Yesung’s solo concert ‘Unfading Sense’ in Manila allowed the artist to serenade his fans with his angelic voice. Here are some of our favorite moments from the show where Yesung absolutely charmed the audience.

Only the best for his fans

Right from the get-go, Filipino ELFs were immediately captivated with Yesung’s sweet voice as he sang “Scented Things” and “Silhouette.”

In his first ment, he told the audience how he wanted to have a more elaborate stage design to show a pretty view for his fans. But Filipino ELFs immediately assured him that they loved what they’re seeing.

Comfortable in Manila

The singer shared how comfortable he is performing in Manila. “Now I recall, I think I have come many times here in the Philippines just to see all the Filipino ELFs. I am very happy to see all of you more often,” Yesung said. “Or is it because we see each other often, it’s like you’re used to me being here. Maybe that’s how much comfortable I am to see all of you.”

Fresh haircut

Yesung also asked what fans thought about his new haircut, which he got to refresh his look in time for the new year. Filipino ELFs repeatedly shouted the word “pogi” (or handsome) that Yesung thought they were saying “hair” in Korean (머리, which is read as “meori”), making him laugh.

Never super senior, forever Super Junior

More than halfway through the two-hour concert, the 39-year-old idol pointed out how ELFs and CLOUDs, his fans, keep on calling him “baby”, so according to him, he isn’t a “super senior,” making fans laugh loudly.

“I want to be a Super Junior Yesung to all of you,” he said.

A favorite destination

According to Yesung, the Philippines is one of the favorite destinations of Super Junior, as proven by how often they have been in the country. He also added that while he doesn’t like the summer-like heat in the country, he loves the Philippines.

When fans called for another Super Show, Yesung jokingly said: “Tigilan na natin yang Super Show, hindi ba kayo nagsasawa? Ako na lang mag-isa.” Cue fans screaming.

Still, he expressed his hopes of returning soon with his fellow Super Junior members. “So after this show tonight, I still hope this year, we’ll still have another chance to see each other.” Fingers crossed!
