Love it or hate it, Emily in Paris has captivated audiences worldwide since its 2020 debut. Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City), the stylish rom-com is back for a much-anticipated Season 4! Emily in Paris Season 4 will be released in two parts, each with five episodes. Part 1 premieres on August 15, 2024, followed by Part 2 on September 12, 2024. What do we know so far about the new season?
Season 3 of Emily in Paris saw our favorite marketing maven, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), navigate a whirlwind of Parisian life. While her fashion choices remained impeccable, her love life and career continued to be a rollercoaster. Career-wise, Emily’s confidence soared under the demanding yet inspiring Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) at Savoir. But her personal life remained a tangled mess.
Caught in a love triangle, Emily watched Camille (Camille Razat) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) plan their wedding, trying to understand her feelings for the charming chef. Things got even more complicated when Gabriel confessed his feelings for “both” Emily and Camille. Meanwhile, throughout Season 3, Emily dates Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), a banker in London for whom she also harbors strong feelings. However, Gabriel’s lingering presence kept her emotions in a constant state of flux.
If we’re placing bets, we’re almost 100% sure Gabriel and Emily won’t end up together in Season 4. At the end of Season 3, their heartfelt conversation felt like a bittersweet goodbye to what-could’ve-beens, acknowledging a missed opportunity but prioritizing a solid friendship. Meanwhile, Emily’s connection with Alfie remains a question mark.
After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.
Season 4 will introduce new cast members in addition to the usual roster of characters, including Emily’s friend Mindy Chen (Ashley Park), Savoir employees Julien (Samuel Arnold) and Luc (Bruno Gouery), and Maison Lavaux owner Antoine Lambert (William Abadie).
Eugenio Franceschini will play Marcello. Originally from Rome, Marcello is direct, confident, and values simplicity. He’s substantive but never flashy — true to the roots of his family’s company.
Thalia Besson will be coming into the season as Genevieve, Laurent’s 20-something daughter from a past relationship, who’s just moved from New York City to Paris to start her career. Her bright, eager demeanor immediately endears her to Emily, who’s thrilled to have an American expat to mentor. However, their similarities may complicate Emily’s life — professionally and personally.
Rupert Everett also plays Giorgio Barbieri, the owner of a global interior design firm based in Rome. Giorgio makes it his business to know everyone else’s business and to be the life of every party. He’s been friends with Sylvie for decades.
Anna Galiena will portray Antonia Muratori, Marcello’s mother, the Muratori family matriarch, and the family business head. Antonia presides over their small village by building up the community and caring for the people who live and work there. Antonia is committed to maintaining the company’s soul even in uncertain times.
Lastly, Raoul Bova will play Giancarlo, a charming, self-assured, successful Roman commercial director who used to be Sylvie’s film professor.
